if the fight happened when it was first made Aldo would have won, Connor has had so much extra time to work on his flaws and is ascending while Aldo hit his ceiling years ago and is trying not to decline, i think Connor takes him out :-X

Stand up I agree, Connor is the hardest hitter in his division, but if it goes to ground I don't think he'll last, Aldo is no slouch in the striking department either.  Think of this, if Connor wins, his mouth moves a million times faster, I won't be able to stand that!
his ground game would have been addressed after Mendes exposed it (5 months ago)
Aldo lacks reach to get off his striking game
Connor controls distance really well
Aldo is emotional about fighting Connor, we've seen how that pans out for fighters
leads me to the conclusion Connor will knock him out

yep your right he does run his mouth, i doubt it would stop if he lost anyway, ala Tito Ortiz

Been watching the Ultimate Fighter?  He was beaten by Faber in the coaches challenge, wow, he turned so sheepish and was destroyed that he lost, didn't say much for awhile after that.
yeah i have, been impressed with his approach to training, he makes a lot of sense :o

It was always going to be massively in favor of the international guys, they are the best of europe, whereas the americans are just another group of guys to get into the house.

Haven't seen Aldo fight emotional before, Connor can get under his skin but I'm sure when it's fight time, he can stick to his strategy. He's a smart fighter, but needs to find away around Connor's reach, and a few leg kicks if he can land could help stop Connor using his kicks to keep him from getting on the inside.

I can see how Connor can take it if he can keep Aldo at bay with his reach and avoid getting in too close or onto the ground (like Jon Jones standing with his reach/kicks, but not with the ground game to back it up). Division is catching up to Aldo and if Connor can work on his endurance, pushing Aldo to the Championship rounds is where he has a chance to take it as Aldo tends to tire come later rounds.

i really think he missed his chance 5 months ago, at best he is treading water while Conor gets better...

http://www.bjpenn.com/mmanews/prediction-mcgregor-predicts-1st-round-ko-but-only-if-aldo-shows-up/

“I don’t think he’ll be there. I just don’t think he’ll be there. He didn’t show up the last time. We’ll see. (Based on) history, eye contact, words, mind frame, even his gym, his training approach. I just don’t think with all those things combined, he can make it to the contest.”

“But if he shows up, I feel I will KO him inside one. If he makes that walk, if I see him inside the Octagon, every single movement I make, I will get an over-reaction out of him because he is emotionally invested in it. There’s too much in it for him. The whole country of Brazil, it’s all piling on him.”

“If I just go ‘huh’ (feints’), he will react a million times too much. That’s how I see the fight playing out. I see him over reacting, over extending, then KO’d unconscious.”

Hellopplz

Agree, the extra time isn't helping Aldo, and can see it going Connor's way if he controls distance well and avoids the ground.

Need to see how Aldo shows up on the day really. Just can't let himself buy into Connor's antics and fight emotionally. Practically gives it away if he does :-X.

Also, if anybody is up tonight, have Henderson Vs Masvidal card on at midnight (Main Card starts then, the prelims already begun :o ). Main Card should be decent, so I may watch it as nothing much else on tonight :D.

not cool in terms of fighter-health but as a finish ... WOWEE!!!!!   :D   ;D   ;)

Hellopplz

Game on tomorrow >:D.

And for those who've been able to watch, 2 cards yesterday and today leading up to this :D. Not to mention Dos Anjos Vs Cerrone card next weekend! Great way to end the year 8).

For those who haven't watched, I was only able to catch the main cards (as foxtel never showed the prelims :( ).

Fight Night - Sage Northcutt looked ripped at the weigh ins, like legit :o. Nice come from behind win. Chiesa Vs Miller was a nice ground war fare :D. Namajunas just completely decimated Van Zant more than I expected, just a clinic over the match.

For the TUF Finale - Ferguson Vs Barboza I recommend watching! Was wild and some good exchanges! Edgar Vs Mendes wasn't what I was expecting but surely have our #1 contender if Aldo beats Conor (if not, Aldo deserves the rematch).

Bill Manspeaker

never doubted you for a second Conor  8)

Fight of the night was Browne vs Arlovski by far.  Lead up fights were fairly meh.  Cerrone looked good.  Belfort through a wicked flurry that did not even phase Wiedman, think Belfort was in shock and he just lay down in the end.  DC, lost to Jones and with it lost his title shot, wasn't in the main event at all, Jones gets suspended, DC walks away with the belt.  :o
Rumble dropped him with that first shot n blew his wad going for the finish, not his style, he is a take whats there type fighter and eventually kills an opponent off impressively, think he was overwhelmed by the moment, bad habits resurfaced, u could see him call it in, his corner told him still got 3 rounds and he went one more big push and then gave it up when DC took him down again, makes me wish i had his toolbox, he really just got taken out of his game, DC didnt and faced bigger adversity so he definitely deserved it.

Weidman is a straight up monster... Rockhold will do him though mark my words ;)
;)

Word is Connor wants to go straight for the title in the next divi up to be the first 2 divi title holder, and Dana is on board!  Interesting to see how this pans out.  He'd be taking on the winner of Dos Anjos vs Cowboy if it was to happen soon.  Think Connor should give Edgar a shot before taking on Aldo again, then get a shot at the lightweight belt.
