i actually think Cain had the better of the fight at that stage (inside leg kicks) but the way those two styles matchup in the striking game was always going to be the determining factor... JDS can land from odd angles that would be difficult to telegraph, while Cain loves to counter hook, i think Cain is the more well rounded fighter but JDS has sleeping pills in his hands...


on a side note do u think we should set up a UFC results thread so its easier for guys to avoid spoilers and others can discuss results?

Not sure, doesn't hurt but we don't post a whole lot in here to not keep up with.

Maybe we should just list Spoiler Alert and then space 10 lines before saying it. Or we could just make a new thread for results although would only be posting in there during/after main events which are every couple of weeks.

I think it has to be a bit of 'buyer beware' in that we all know that we are likely to be talking about past fights (whether main events or TUF) so you have to be a bit careful.

eg, I didn't get to watch Cain vs JDS live so I made sure I didn't check this UFC thread til today after watching the replay last night.

btw, so OneHD showed Guida vs Henderson first and then Cain vs JDS in the live Sun morning telecast??!

Yep :). Although they showed it on Facebook as well, showing the entire card besides the HW title bout.

so much to like about Guida really i mean he is always on his toes bouncing, body language is always positive even when losing, always comes forward makes the action and he has great sportsmanship...

Henderson looks slick, and large for that weight class... future champ

that's why i've nicknamed him 'Blanka' (from Streetfighter2) in addition to his moniker of 'the carpenter' and cos he looks like a 'wild man from Borneo'.

Edgar vs Henderson is gonna be a corker from all indications ... will be interesting to see if Edgar can utilise his speed and movement against Henderson like he did against Maynard. Henderson looks a lot quicker and potentially more strategic than 'the bully' Maynard.

definitely, looks like he has Ray Rice's legs :o i thought he was really calm in the chaos of Blanka and never really got into a spot he couldnt handle, totally stuck to a gameplan which is impressive...

Good win to JDS, and not taking anything away from him cos he thoroughly deserved it but Cain def looked like he had the 'ring-rust' of all 13mths+ he's not had a fight.

soooo looking forward to both Lesnar vs Overeem AND hopefully JDS vs winner Lesnar-Overeem!!!!   :o

yeh, I know Maynard is too but he did have Edgar on the ropes in both recent fights but Benson seems to be willing to be more technical if necessary and I doubt he'll make the same mistake Maynard did twice in not following Edgar up when he tagged him in both fights ...

can't quite remember that first kickboxer movie specifically but i know the one you're talking about.

i saw a replay on 7TWO around when it first started of the Strikeforce title fight between Cung Le vs Frank Shamrock - Le's kicks were powerful!  :o

other than that i haven't seen much of him but i like watching Wanderlei and the main event should be a cracker!  :D

but Wanderlei has had a long career and he has been taking quite a fair few shots to the head in his more recent fights ... that's got to put some mileage on the gas-tank and durability-wise ...
