Won by first round submission :)
Awesome stuff by Rob! Certainly putting together a string of dominant wins from the sounds of things 8).

Was meant to say this two days ago, but personal stuff came up but UFC on Fox is on today! Chiesa and the Johnson Vs Schaub match were cancelled but still quite a damn decent card for free (Well Pat TV provideres or those going down to the pub :P ).

Tim Means slipped in Sauna so replaced in his match by Marcus LeVesseur, was looking forward to seeing Means again after he destroyed Salas in his last match. Quite alot of former TUF fighters on the undercard, certainly a few of those fights should be entertaining, such as Siver Vs Phan and Jorgenson Vs Albert (really want to watch this one). Top 3 fights with big names! Henderson Vs Diaz with belt on line, Rua Vs Gustaffson and Penn Vs MacDonald. Swick Vs Brown also has the potential to be good. Swick over his injuries and Brown on a roll. But all 4 certainly are great fights to have on a free card :D.

Also, first Women's match in UFC history has been made, set for UFC 157 :o. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Ronda-Rousey-to-Defend-Bantamweight-Belt-Against-Liz-Carmouche-in-UFC-157-Headliner-48001
Good win to your 'lil' brother CF!
(though I haven't seen the replay yet ... )

UFC on Fox 5 recap:

Venue issues
I don't have FoxSports so had to head to the pub (yeah, I know - oh the effort i had to go to get myself to the pub!  ;)) ... but with the 3hr time difference, it's an 'early-bird' 9am start over here in the west and the dang pub didn't open til 9.40am or so even though their website advertised it for 9am!!!  :o   >:(

so I missed most of Swick vs Brown apart from 'watching' it through the glass fn the doors to the pub!

Penn vs MacDonald
thankfully we got let in, in time enough for BJ Penn vs Rory MacDonald (pub just got the sound on a couple of minutes before the fight - a few technical issues that morning but they finally sorted their shower out) - I don't think it is just me - but is this kid  freaking huge now??

agree with the commentators, BJ should not be in the welter-weight div any longer, but the problem for him is that the light-weight division is too fast and well-conditioned for him too. sad to say, but i think it is time for him to retire - could squeeze one more fight out of him against Takanori Gomi though??!?

Suffice to say BJ got dominated by one of the kids who probably looked up to him in his prime ... wasn't the best test for MacDonald in the end so be interesting who they match him up with next?? (have seen some commentators bandy about Dong Hyunh KIM)

Shogun vs Gustafsson
Another changing of the guard with the Swede controlling pretty much the whole fight and Rua looked really worn down from all the punishment he's been taking in the cage of late.

He just didn't have anything to get through the Swede's reach and size advantage, much like his fight against Jones, without the finish however, which makes me think that Gustafsson would get smashed by Jones even though he is now next in line to fight for the title - I think a better bet would be to match him up against the Henderson vs Machida loser before putting him in front of Jones (if he gets thru Sonnen, but that's an unlikely upset in the same vein as Silva vs Bonnar!).

Henderson vs Diaz
Another domination fight with Henderson in his prime it would seem - I can't see anyone touching him at this stage, but it would be awesome to see Henderson vs Melendez to 'unify' UFC and Strikeforce titles!!!!!!  :o   ;)

Can't wait for Dos Santos vs Velasquez II to round out the year!!!  ;D

First 3 prelim fights on fox have been insane, hope u guys can catch a replay if ur not watching... Cmon Nate ;)
I had a friend's B'day party to go to but recorded it and THANK GOODNESS I DID. Those Prelim fights were AWESOME :D :D :D.

BJ and Shogun sadly were outmatched by the younger guys, probably a passing of the guard as most were saying. BJ just got smashed to be honest. I heard about a match up with Stungun as well for MacDonald's future. Gustaff got the next shot at Jones, surpised Machida and Henderson are pushed future back to be honest, gotta feel for them especially Hendo. Think I saw it more of what you guys said last time about Gustaff, He has the size, but his reach isn't as long nor does he use his size to his advantage properly.

Henderson just owned Diaz... And most were picking Diaz but great to see Henderson defend the belt a few times so it doesn't keep bouncing around very often, and we don't need more rematches :P.

I love watching Matt Brown in action, and nice to see him continue his streak with a win against Swick. Hopefully calls for a step up in competition.

Prelims I gotta say were great! Siver dominated Phan, like DOMINATED completely... Abel Trujillo could be one to watch for the future, dominated LeVesseur (given he was called upon short notice) and the way it ended with Knees to the Body was just brutal... Edwards KOing Stephens was nice, but I believe Cruickshank was robbed for KO of the night. That Head kick was just sweet, and loved watching him on the Ultimate Fighter due to his background, loves his kicks :P. Jorgenson Vs Albert was always going to be a great fight (one of the ones I wanted to watch), was dissapointed that it wasn't going to be shown on the scheduled Prelims for Fox but happy it got time in the end :D. Although really wanted Albert to win (great to see him fight as always entertains), Jorgenson got the win as Albert tapped to the rear naked choke at the bell for Round 1... So unlucky! 3 losses in a row, hopefully they keep him around for 1 more match to fight his way back, as there is hope as he is an entertaining fighter.

agree with u guys fully, the only disappointment was how hard it was to watch two legends get beat up...

was extremely impressed with BenHen's gameplan and execution, highlighted Nate's lack of will to diversify his gameplan...

Video for my bro's fight is up. Apart from a little slip at the start he appears to be control of the entire fight :)

Cheers CF, man he's lethal on the ground your bro. Apart from the slip he was never in trouble.

CrowsFan

Yeah he's very good on the ground!
It's funny because in the 4 fights I've heard him be introduced as a kick boxer, a boxer and a wrestler! Can't decide what he is ;D

Yeah the problem is though since he is so tall he has a massive reach advantage over most opponents if left standing, so they would want to take it to the ground...

Very true, i thought this when i saw him and his opponent side by side in the earlier post of yours. He has wings like an Albatros.

Haha yeah. He is 6'2, which is 188cm, but his arm span is 193cm I think. So pretty damn long!

Grazz

Yeh thats huge, had me and my son measuring ours, pretty sad i came in at 176 and the lad 172 lol.

 8) another owning, surely the bigger promotion will take notice sooner or later and give him a bigger chance to prove himself...

Battle of the Smashes Finale is on FX today at midday, should be a cracker with George Sotoropolis Vs Ross Pierson
