That means you had a 50% hit rate ;). Not as good as Geelong's 2/3 GF's ;).

Where were they this year? Same team basically as last season but not good enough to get them the whole way. Lost to Collingwood every game they played us.

Can't even begin to compare the 2 teams.

No, we didn't choke. It was a tough game that was always going to be close.

Surprised you said that with a straight face.

Why is that? St. Kilda have been a top 3 side for the last 2 seasons, and also the only team that made it to the semi finals to have beaten us through-out the home and away season.

Although as a Hawthorn supporter, I don't think you really have much room to talk after 2009. ;P

Boomz

I'm guessing he was referring to the part where u said u didn't choke... Up by what 4-5 goals & had chances to put the game away through Cloke & Daisy... you choked.

8-6 Suited

Do you expect anything less by Cloke though? Every time he gets the ball, I write it off as an on the full. That way I'm somewhat happy when he gets a point and stoked if its a goal lol

Boomz

lol I'm soooo glad we didn't get him :)

You are right, no one in their right mind would try and equate that Geelong team with the Pies.

Irrelevant. Gave up a 5 goal lead. That is a choke. A choke isn't consistent under-performing, it is a single major under-performance after many weeks of high quality performances.

8-6 Suited

In a game that can change at the drop of a hat, 5 goal leads aren't really that big nor hard to give up. Especially when you are playing against a quality team like St Kilda who can do that damage... It is why they got to the grand final after all.

bunyip

I can't be bothered looking it up because it was LAST season, but didn't we beat the Maggies early in the season?

hawk_88

I think you are right. From memory it was a pretty big margin, 5 or 6 goals or something.

8-6 Suited

Yeah in round 9 by 36 points.

But we also handed a 48 point demolishing to St. Kilda and beat Geelong by 22 points before destroying then by 51 in the Prelim. WHile in the same token, St. Kilda beat the cats both times that they played them in the season and finals.

Winning a home and away game is not exactly a big achievement when we won the flag and the cats didn't even get the shot at the flag... Losing to both St Kilda and the Pies.

bunyip

Thanks for the history lesson 8, appreciate it. Go Cats!

8-6 Suited

Well its hard to be critical of the grand final results when you didn't even make it...
