Both left by choice, to join other clubs.

Come on. By definition they are traitors. Understandable? Yes. Traitors? Also yes.

The Cats should boo Ablett everytime he touches the ball

^^^^ Which they will  but deep down still will miss him admire him & really wish he was still a cat

bunyip

Some probably will oss. But my opinion is he was a champ for us and we loved him. Really, who can blame him for going after all that money? If he finishes his career at GC he will be a multi millionaire and only about 30 yrs old. He'll be set up for the rest of his life.
Maybe he'll come back and coach us ;D

Cruiseon

Yeah right Bunyip, and maybe his Dad will coach you as well. Not a whole lot of brain power between them.

bunyip

Thats harsh cruis. I think Gablett has organised his life pretty well :)

haha yeah it is slightly strange... I think it will turn out that for the first season at least Bomber will be the mastermind behind everything Hird does & says.
You`d think Bomber would Coach and Hird be assistant til he learns the tricks of the trade.

bunyip

Well, if anything happens, Bomber would be a usefull fallback.

RiOtChEsS

the only thing i didnt like is bomber's subtle ribbing of gaj... although he felt that way somethings r better left unsaid :-X

bunyip

It was probably unnecessary. You have to wonder if that tension between the two affected the team.

With all the pre-season preview of upsides and hopes for next year, a united Geelong will make a huge difference. Clearly there were cracks with Thompson and Ablett, that must of got noticed but other players in a negative way & not been great for team bonding.

Beware the unified hungry Geelong. Their list may look a little weaker and older but the upside of being hungry and unified is a worry for the rest of us.

bunyip

I agree. Even though the players loved Bomber, their will be an air of excitement with a new coach. It's human nature. A few of the guys would be aware that they don't have a lot of time left, and would be desperate to make next season a big one.
As the saying goes, an old dog for a hard road.
Geelongs team has changed very little the last 4 or 5 years, so come what may, a few players will be retiring after next season.

I agree Cruiseon .. a champion team always beats a team of Champions .. which means a unified team will beat a team of champion individuals .. it's all about unity and we weren't unified last year ... in that regard we'll be much better off in 2011
You only have to look at the way Collingwood went about it in 2010 .. well coached and totally focused

roo boys!

Anything is possible with their list if they can set their focus onto it, and Chappy's hammys don't go TWANG :-X ;)

bunyip

That's right, you need a good run with injuries if you want to do well at finals time. It's vital to keep important players like Chappy fit.

roo boys!

And I think with GAJ gone Chappy plays even more of a part in the forward line.

as the resident baldy :P

Justin Bieber

Why not shave Mooney then to get a Baldy there? Leave Chappy to the midfield for our SC teams :P.
