Danyle Pearce

2010 Stats
Games: 22
Total Score: 1864 (Ranked 63rd overall, 46th amongst midfielders)
Average Score: 84.73 (Ranked 115th overall, 70th amongst midfielders)
High: 138 (Round 13)
Low: 38 (Rounds 8 & 19)
Standard Deviation: 28.28
Centuries: 7 out of 22
Starting Price: $396,900
High Price: $455,500 (round 7)
Low Price: $369,800 (round 22)

Summary:

Rising Star winner Danyle Pearce, in my view, continues to not live up to his SC potential. Another disappointing year, averaging 84.73 at a huge standard deviation of 28.28 is almost the definition of a disappointing midfielder in anyone's team (he scores mediocre, and you can't even guarantee it).

Started the year, averaging 96.4 across the first 7 rounds, but then the wheels fell off (much like Port Adelaide's season). From round 8 onwards he averaged under 80, with scores of 42 (round 8), 38 (round 10), 62 (round 15), 38 (round 19), 58 (round 20) and 52 (round 22). A particularly disappointing last 4 rounds (with the exception of 120 in round 20) meant that for those who had him, they would have suffered greatly.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number
Price: $450,000

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $428,500

Position: MID

Will Matty Primus get the best out of him SC wise? I doubt it.

Decision:

Stay away from him. He may look cheapish at his price, but that's only because of name-recognition. Way better value elsewhere.

ronl

Unless Primus can work out a way to stop other coaches tagging him, it'll be more of the same.  It's a shame because he is a very talented player.  A big no from me but I would like to see him live up to his potential.

MajorLazer

He needs to be more consistent and he does need to learn to break a tag. He doesn't do enough off the ball running to shake the tagger off.

supercoach addict

He still got his highest SC average of his career last year Ossie.

Indeed he did, but after 6 years as a midfielder and not cracking the 85 average mark....

By all means, select him :)

Way too inconsistent... No. way.
+1 he can turn it on, but just not often enough. think he is a bit overrated personally.

DazBurg

flat out no from me not worth that price no where near it

Master Q

One of the most skilful players in the AFL, but gets a 100% Extreme tag, and sometimes the best of the best can't break those. Too Inconsistent.

Fletch74

I will look at him. He's still young, thus he still has improvement in him. The tag is the only worry.

Really? If he improves he'll get more of a tag, and he doesn't have the greatest minds in the AFL to help him break that tag  :P

Junktimer

I'm saying no to this downhill skiing softie.

MTTY

Needs to find consistency and get the attention on someone else in the power midfield.

With Boak becoming a genuine gun could potentially happen.

When Port plays well so does Pearce, but also happens in the opposite way
