Brady Rawlings

2010 Stats

Low: 60 (Round 13)
Standard Deviation: 16.09

High Price: $497,500 (round 17)
Low Price: $424,800 (round 10)

Summary:

Having played AFL since 1999, you wouldn't think it would take until 2010 for Rawlings to have a break out year. Earning himself an All-Australian nomination, and coming in at 28th overall in Supercoach. Rawlings only scored 6 centuries (none of them huge) but was it a case of the nervous 90s for Brady Rawlings? He scored in the 90s a whopping 10 times, and scored under 81 only once (60 in round 13). Remarkably consistent with a standard deviation of 16.09 one of the lowest in the competition.

Rawlings averaged a massive 28.32 disposals per game, but this did not translate into huge scores. In rounds 7, 14 and 18 he had over 30 touches but failed to crack the SC century. Rawlings average of 97 is clearly his best performance in his SC career (85.2 in 2009 being the next best).

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number
Price: $515,200

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $490,500

Position: MID/DEF (maybe just MID)

m0nty has him listed as a MPP MID/DEF and I agree with his assessment. If he was a defender this year he would have only been behind Goddard, Hodge and Lake in terms of total points scored. I'm not sure if Rawlings can back 2010's performance in 2011, but MPP's generally warrant some thought.

Decision:

Touch and go for me. Rawlings is a ball magnet but fails to convert, however is consistent which is what I look for in defenders (if selected as one). MPP's are always handing, but he is pricey and I would probably prefer Deledio or Gibbs if either are selected as MPP.

If he is MPP maybe, he can rack up possies like nothing else and if he does this next year he may translate that into SC points

Can't believe he averaged 97 last year. Not sure I'll be investing at the peak of his curve.

If he gets MPP status, he will almost be a definite for me. Very good avg for someone you can list as a back.

Scott has him in this new role, which will only see him get better.

He'll be turning 30 next season.

He's shortlisted for me. Will be considered if he's MPP rather than just a midfielder. If he's playing his loose man off half back, he'll be almost certain to repeat this season.

MajorLazer

He might be a bit unique to people not on FF, but I don't think I will take him.

MPP might make it a different story. Can't definitely rule out anyone yet.

ranked 7th in the afl for possies this year.

DEF/MID, I'll give the hard worker a touch and go.

You can bet your nose he'll deliver.

No one nose like the nose. D/M has to be on the shortlist. Without the MPP > no

MTTY

Like him as a player and now Grima has got himself an injury if i need a NM player then he may slip in
