And were not a one man team, and anyway, If Carlton merged with Essendon, the only players who could safely make the 22 would be Watson and Ryder. The other 20 would all be Blue boys.

If you took the best players from Carlton and the best players from Essendon, they still wouldn't be able to beat Collingwood!

How about this for a motto:

"We're paying Chris Judd illegally for you, help us pay his wages!"

It's accurate, not misleading, and leads to minimal disappointment.
