Hawka

With the ashes fast approaching and the Aussies struggling i have thought of a few test teams
The no risk team AKA:selectors keeping players on rep not form
1.Watson
2.Katich
3.Ponting
4.Hussey
5.Clarke
6.North
7.Haddin
8.Johnson
9.Haurtiz
10.Hilfenhaus
11.Bollinger

This will most likely be the team we will see in the first test and i dont like it 4,6 and 9 are shaky

Minimal risk team
1.Watson
2.Katich
3.Ponting
4.Hussey
5.Clarke
6.Khawja/Ferguson
7.Haddin
8.Smith
9.Johnson
10.Hilfenhaus
11.Bollinger

Taking out north and bringin in a non allrounder isnt great and this will mean clarke and katich must bowl more

Blooding the youngsters team
1.Watson
2.Katich
3.Ponting
4.Clarke
5.Khawja
6.Ferguson
7.Paine
8.Smith
9.Johnson
10.Hilfenhaus
11.George

Very risky team but i could of made it more younger by bringin in the likes of hughes,Bailey,Okeffe

Which brings me to my final team not australias test team but the Australia A squad for the game agianst england ..this lot of players should all be next in line and i have kept it to youngsters

1.Hughes
2.Klinger
3.Khawja
4.Ferguson
5.Bailey
6.Paine
7.Smith
8.O'Keefe
9.Hastings
10.Starc
11.George

Phew there u go thoughts ??

I agree that the first team you said is the likely team!

Mine would be:

1. Watson
2. Katich
3. Ponting
4. Khwaja
5. Clarke
6. Ferguson
7. Paine
8. Johnson
9. Doherty
10. Hilfenhaus
11. Bollinger/Siddle

I wouldn't play Doherty.
He is already 27 and he only just made his ODI debut.

In saying that Hauritz is not exactly good either.
I really want Stuart Clark in the team. I know he won't be but he has a nice upright action should get a fair bit of LBW and take a lot of late wickets, clean out the tail enders which Australia has struggled to do :-\

Boomz

I agree I like Clark... Won't get a go though..

Boys, Hussey isn't going.

Ferguson comes in for North, and the bowlers will be:

Johnson
Bollinger
Hauritz ---> After his first few games, which he'll do badly in, in comes Doherty
Hilfenhaus/Siddle

Hilfenhaus is miles ahead of Bollinger and Siddle atm (also ahead of Johnson). Bollinger and Siddle will play off for third spot.

Nathan Hauritz is 29, and only really started playing for Australia 2 years ago full time. Doherty's form - especially at the MCG - puts him far and away the most inform spinner in the country. Unless you have a Warne-Murali-Kumble-Vettori etc, if you're stuck with a bunch of second tier spinners, you should play the one that is in form. This is Doherty.

Master Q

First, Ossie, and non-Australian could come onto this forum and tell your from Tassie  ;D

Hilfenhaus is good, but Johnson is the fast spear-head of the Aussie attack, he's the leader, they won't drop him. Bollinger, yeh not in amazing form but he's young, they'll want to play him.

Siddle, I reckon he's got the spot over Hilfenhaus atm, but if Siddle has 1 or 2 poor games he'll get dropped.

Although I love Doherty, he played 1 ODI  :P

Boomz

Doherty has been in good domestic form though & there is no way Siddle has the spot over Hilfenhaus...

Why so BOOMZ?

Boomz

Because Siddle has done nothing to warrant a place over Hilfenhaus & Hilfenhaus has been one of our only good bowlers of late...

He has, he's been impressive for Victoria.

Boomz

And Hilfenhaus has been impressive for aus... Big difference. He warrants a spot but not ahead of Hilfenhaus.

Master Q

Yeh was Impressive, Last Summer  ::)

He was injured last summer.

Hilf was the best bowler for Australia in the Pakistan (in England) and India tours
