Brad Green

2010 Stats
Games: 22
Total Score: 2124 (Ranked 30th overall, 28th amongst midfielders)
Average Score: 96.55 (Ranked 49th overall, 39th amongst midfielders)
High: 161 (Round 15)
Low: 40 (Round 21)
Standard Deviation: 24.72
Centuries: 9 out of 22
Starting Price: $452,400
High Price: $529,000 (round 17)
Low Price: $426,100 (round 22)

Summary:

Coming off a frustrating 2009, Brad Green bounced back with arguably his best season. Extremely unlucky to miss out on an All-Australian berth, Green moved into the forward line and scored a whopping 55.27, kicking a goal in all but one match (Round 12 v Collingwood when he kicked 0.3). Remarkably consistent, with only 1 shocker (40 in round 21 v Port) and 17 scores above 80.

Green has always been a talented player, but in 2009 he finally showed his full potential and was a key reason for Melbourne's strong improvement. A Demon forward line with Green, Jurrah, Watts, Bate and Petterd is exciting, and they have a bright future.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number
Price: $512,800

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $488,200

Position: MID/FWD (maybe just FWD)

Green turns 30 next year, but I'd wager he still has some very good football left in him. His scoring output might decrease though, as his role may change to accommodate the development of the youngsters.

Will likely get the MPP MID/FWD nod next year, but the fantasy people could through a curve ball in and make him just a forwad.

Decision:

Short listed for me. I have some doubts, but he is one of many similarly priced MID/FWDs going around (along with team mate Colin Sylvia, Collingwood Premiership Players Dale Thomas, Alan Didak and Steele Sidebottom, Freo Superstar Matthew Pavlich and Swans stars Adam Goodes and Ryan O'Keefe).

Fletch74

Based on his ability, he will be shortlisted because the Demons have a favourable draw, re the byes.

Good write up ;)

Agree, you would want at least 2 of him, goodes, ROK and Sylvia between your midfield and forward line, with Pav almost a lock in one of them as well

Not sure I agree with that. Sure have a couple but I'd still put them all in the forward line, and see if I can find a cheap MID/FWD (like Dylan McNeil) so I can move them around if required. Otherwise I don't think it is as effective.

Has been in and out of my fanplanner team a couple times already this year, big chance to make my team.

same here, however theres alot of forward options this year

Maca24

Strongly considering. is a great player who kicks a lot of goals as well as disposals. hopefully i can fit him in  :)

I would of got him this year (2010), however he was listed in mids.. Gun, Mr Consistency you can rely on him to get almost over 80 every week

MajorLazer

With the byes in Melbourne's favour I will nearly definitely pick him.

Justin Bieber

He is almost a lock for me but with many cheap premiums, he's shortlisted.

Even with his age, he is a key in the Demons forward line and can still rack them up a little further up the ground.

I'm probably more inclined to go with Sylvia than Green, because he is cheaper, younger and when he wasn't injured in 2010, scored like a champ.

There range most weeks
Syvlia 60-130
Green 80-120

Junktimer

short listed, especially if MPP.  played great footy this year and scored well.
