I just want to have a little rant right now regarding the constant complaining by supporters of opposition clubs regarding what the media have referred to as a "Dream Draw for Collingwood".

I, frankly, am sick of listening to people crying about how the AFL has favoured Collingwood, and basically 'handed us the flag for 2011'. What a crock of shower that is as its probably one of the most difficult draws in the league, full stop.

First, every club in the AFL gets 11 home games. Our home ground is typically the MCG however several are played at Etihad. The MCG is also the home ground of Hawthorn, Richmond and Melbourne. So when we play them in their home games, it is obviously going to be at the MCG.

Also, Carlton and Essendon CHOOSE to play their games against us at the MCG as does the AFL as they are the highest crowd attendance games in the league, with it being the only place available to hold the figures that attend. Everyone complains we have a majority of games in Melbourne, but if your clubs don't request their home games played at the MCG then we wouldn't. Its YOUR CLUBS that want the money from OUR ATTENDANCE FIGURES.

Get a crowd coming to your games before you start whining.

People say we don't travel enough. We travel interstate 4 times vs Sydney, Fremantle, Port Adelaide and Brisbane. Carlton travels only 4 times as well so does Melbourne. Essendon does 5 times, so does Hawthorn.  Only difference is Hawthorn sold 4 of their home games to Auror Stadium in Tasmania so they don't count as travelling. A lot of clubs sell their games then their supporters dog and moan about how unfair the draw is that they have to travel so much.... BLAME YOUR GODDAMN CLUB!

As for who we play interstate, who would you prefer us to play? The Herald Sun's Jon Ralph claimed our Interstate draw to be a Dream Interstate draw. Freo, finished 6th, we play them at Subiaco, that's definately a dream. Sydney. Finished 5th, play them at the SCG. That's got to be a dream as well. Port, 10th, AAMI and Gold Coast, at the Gold Coast Stadium. Yes, the team that actually DOES have a decent list with Ablett over there... Who has torn us a part a few times last season.

Could be worse, we could be playing Brisbane, West Coast or Adelaide... Yeah, THAT WOULD be a dream draw. Not to mention we play Geelong and St Kilda both, twice Carton twice. All finalists last season, with the 2nd on the ladder and the grand finalists to boot.



That is by far a difficult draw, so stop your moaning... Harden up, or go support Equestrian.

No but it is in regards to the draw. There draw is similar to ours, except they are located at Etihad instead of MCG.

So its fair enough to mention them as they travel a mere 4 times as well. :x

It won't make a lick of diference because as season goes on Nathan Buckley's head will expand to the point that no Pies player will be able to see the whiteboard and won't have any idea what to do on field, resulting in a huge demise and substantial losses. :P

Collingwood's draw was very tough in 2010, but I think easy in 2011.

Can't blame Collingwood for every Victorian club wanting to play them at the MCG

8-6 I couldn't agree more. St.Kilda & Geelong also join Carlton & Essendon in trading their home games at their home grounds to play us at the G.

If they weren't selling their soul it would be different.

Come on cruiz, you really are a White Goodman sometimes. The reality is the MCG is the only arena capable of accomodating  a match between TWO popular teams.
Collingwood are not the only team Geelong NEEDS to play at the MCG so everyone who wants to go can see it.
Of course they would have to play in Melbourne. Can you imagine the stink it would create if we played the Pies in Geelong?
It's common sense, it has NOTHING to do with "selling" home games. Geelong don't "sell" any home games, the league tells US where we play the big teams.
How long do you think it's been since we played Essendon or Carlton down here?
It's not all about Collingwood.
