Rookies are going to fail miserably this year.

They'll crash and burn, especially come the 2 non-playing rounds at the end of the fixture.

Rookies will also probably find themselves playing as the sub... not a good year of rookies for a number of reasons.

The right rookies will play the whole game - eg. scully, martin, trengove of this year.
tfer, what do you mean by the last two rounds of the fixture(last 2 rounds of the season?) because rookies won't matter by then, they will all be upgraded by then.

As you get into the season yes. However early on you would expect at most 1 or 2 rookies per team to play. Given they will have had a shorter pre-season and it is their first, their match fitness will not be at the same level as most players - a way to manage this is to play them as the sub. Also the sub will most likely be a midfielder. Most successful fantasy rookies are midfielders.

Early scores are critical in getting a lot of money out of cash cows so rookies playing as a sub will greater affect their value as short term cash cows.
