It may not be everyone's favourite but politics can also be a good front bar conversation.

Whilst I am largely indifferent to the leaders we have before us today, as I watched Q&A last night I could see a man who was more concerned about his legacy, how history will judge him than an emotionally intellegent man who had any insight that was different to 3 years ago. There was no insight inti what he would have done differently, just justification for what was done.

I don't justify throwing a shoe, and as a former leader he deserves respect, but there is no doubt that John Howard is a divisive character both within his party, and within our country. I am very glad he and his divisive nature is gone and whilst economically Australia is travelling very well, I think morally we are recovering from the bankruptcy he led us into.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Heard a shoe was thrown at him. He did get us back on our feet but was starting to lead us on the decline.

Howard should move on from his Prime Minister days. Sure he should be repected (as should any person) but he has really got to stop living in the past. Enjoy his less pressure life and his big weekly pension.

I wish the guy who threw them was a better shot. Would of knocked that smarmy smile off Howards face.

He deliberately put himself in front of the country by his own admission. Nuff said really. Julia's the same, put herself in front of the country. Bring back Kev, he was an arrogant egotistical prick but at least he had a plan

Bush/Howard will forever be linked, in many ways.

At least George Bush is prepared toadmit how many things he got wrong and that he would have done some things differently. All Howard does is defend every thing he ever did.
