Travis Cloke
Games:20
Total Score: 1,814
Average:90.7
Standard Deviation: 29.7
Centuries: 6 of 20
High: 159
Low: 53
Starting Price: 391,100
High Price: 475,900
Low Price: 380,500

Summary: Travis Cloke had a very good 2010 season, taking plenty of contested marks in the league and proving to be Collingwoods main forward target. One big issue for him
is his goalkicking,(38.40) and there is no doubt it something he has to get better at if the pies are to go back to back in 2011. When he scores tons, he scores big ones, with 3 130+ centuries.

The Crystal Ball:
Price: 481,700
According to last years magic number

Price: 458,700
According to m0ntys fanplanner
Position: FWD

Verdict: 50/50 for mine. There are plenty of Collingwood players that should be considered, but Cloke could turn out to be a very nice unique pick if he can get his goalkicking right.
Will you pick Cloke in 2011.

Fletch74

Unlikely for me. Would have to get his goalkicking on track, which I don't think will happen.

C3 is somewhat underrated, but only 6 centuries surprises me, thought it was better than that.

If he turns around his goal-kicking.... Because he is the #1 contested marker in the comp.

I'd be more likely to pick the similar priced Steele Sidebottom, who m0nty has listed as a MPP

I would be more likely to get Daisy next year but 2012 is a better chance if Cloke manages to kick straight ::)

Boomz

Prefer Sidebottom or Daisy out fo the Collingwood forwards but if he fixes his kicking he'll be a lock... Unlikely he will though.

Justin Bieber

Although he is unlikely, I put him as shortlisted. Is sure a great forward, although inconsistent. If he straighten's up his kick, would be in almost everybody's side. Taking alot of contested marks is Gold in SC so has to be considered based on that. Although his kicking is always worrying.

Verbal Kint

I've had him pencilled in for a while but he has dropped down my list over the last couple of weeks.  Leaning towards Sidebottom now.  I'll probably change my mind though.

Master Q

If Collingwood have any smart coaches (Which I doubt) and actually tell Cloke how to kick, maybe.

You raise a good point Q, Carlton's superb coaching brain trust have really done with your fantastic forward Mr <name not found>. What a star he is! Almost as good as Carlton's ability to <no skills found>.

unless he gets a new leg.. its a no from me

DazBurg

i haven't taken him before and doubt i'll start now
kicking is a major factor and can go missing at times

I am not sure what all the fuss is about him not kicking straight. The fact is he averaged 90 without kicking straight.

He is young, in a quality team and I would like to think he will improve further again this coming season. If he learns to kick straight as well as improve then he should average 100+ for the season. He is relatively unique too.

The risks I see with him is that he averaged in the 70's for three season prior to last season, so last year may have been a one off. His high SD is a little of a worry if you're looking to start him, he may end up a better upgrade target than starting prospect.

I still don't think his kicking is a downside, it can't get any worse, can it?!?

Anyway, all in all I will consider him for a starting spot but will most likely end up an upgrade target.

definite no from me

Me too.

Does the poll option render these responses unnecessary or am I just getting old and grumpy?!??

I was looking forward to some new insight on Mr Cloke. To my dismay I get a poll vote in the form of a comment. That is 5 seconds I will never get back....
