ROUND ONE POOLS AND THEIR LOCATIONS
- Adelaide, Port Adelaide and Melbourne at AAMI Stadium, February 11 (Friday night)
- Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond at Etihad Stadium, February 12 (Saturday night)
- West Coast, Fremantle and Hawthorn at Patersons Stadium (Subiaco Oval), February 13 (Sunday afternoon)
- Essendon, the Brisbane Lions and St Kilda at Etihad Stadium, February 18 (Friday night)
- Greater Western Sydney, Sydney Swans and Gold Coast at Blacktown Olympic Park, February 19 (Saturday night)
- Geelong, North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs at Skilled Stadium, February 20 (Sunday afternoon)

Each team plays each other on the SAME night, in quick 40 minute matches (two 20-minute halves). The top team from each group, and 2 luck losers, proceed to next round.

Carlton and Richmond? Thought the premiers were meant to get a tough draw ;)

Poor Dees, have to go to ADELAIDE lol

What is with Carlton always picking on the little guy :P.

Demons and Hawks are very unlucky. Have to play away matches against teams who get to play at home!

Most interesting pools would be the last 2 you mentioned. Swans could find it easy but would be nice to see how the new clubs go. The last group is probably the best of the lot. 3 top 8 contenders with 2 of them being top 4 contenders.

Lets see if this actually works out. Will be interesting as it's going to be a fast paced match and will wear down the player's body pretty fast. Still got alot of bench players though?

It is good for Carlton that two big traditional clubs like Richmond & Collingwood get to draw a crowd to their pre-season game. It might help their membership.

Good to give the little guys a helping hand.

Games are going to be exciting with the high impact importance of scoring, none of this defensive tripe - similar to Rugby Sevens.
Crows and Dees will be first match.

But then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds go back to normal.

Correct val, and the teams who don't qualify then go off to play in the traditional regional NAB challenge around various country locations.

I like the rugby 7's as it is free flowing. Wish this was the same as it could turn into the AFL's T20 :).

I saw Big Jonah Lomu play at Hindmarsh Stadium meny years ago in a 7's match and you literally felt the earth thump when he ran past  8)

Gillan MacLachlan has announced that Karmichael Hunt and Israel Folau will both play in first up matches. This is despite Folau not having played a game in anger, methinks Demetriou and Mr NAB will be scratching each others backs to ensure all focus and hype around these two is exponential.....ca ching!

Didn't know this when we booked our annual March holiday for 2011 but we are in Hong Kong at the same time as the World 7's are on so guess where I will be. Story goes it's for 2 days.
