this is interesting
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/104395/default.aspx
could have the same effect as Kennelly
would be dirt cheap
can score alrite for DT

Fletch74

Would be hard to break into that team atm though. Don't know if I would pick him

Boomz

He would be a chance in my side depending how much he would be...

Hawka

most likely woudnt be in the best 22 or even 25

browny_wce

Mick has been speaking to him in Ireland n recons he'd be straight back into the 22 if he was to return

I think he'd be a lovely addition to the Premiership squad which already includes Tarrant & Krakouer.

It's all about depth and he could earn $200,000 a year compared to the nothing he earns in Ireland where unemployment is very high. $A200k converts quite nicely against the Euro these days as well.

Hawka

I think these two look fairly similar

browny_wce

yeh i suppose from the premiership team they would look like this:

B: Shaw, Tarrant, Toovey
HB: O'Brien, N.Brown, Maxwell
C: Wellingham, Swan, Clarke
HF: Didak, Cloke, Ball
F: Beams, Dawes, Sidebottom
FOLL: Jolly, Pendlebury, Thomas
I/C: Blair, L.Brown, Krakouer, Johnson

EMG: Reid, Macaffer, Goldsack
IN: Tarrant, Krakouer, Clarke
OUT: Macaffer, Goldsack, Reid

could also see Tarrant back at full forward with the Pies, as I dont see the gorilla Chris Dawes being a 4-6goal a game kicking forward which he shud be at FF

Justin Bieber

Nice hawka. And benjy, that resemblence is uncanny ;D.

There is no way Reid would be out of our best 22 for Tarrant. And Nathan Brown has just beaten Captain Pretender twice in two Grand Finals so you'd have to say he has some promise!

Depth, its a lovely problem to have.

Macaffer won't get dropped for Krakouer! Blair or even Beams would get dropped.

Clarke wasn't a guarantee in the best 22 anyway, no for him also. Starting him on the ground ahead of Johnson, crazy talk.

In fact, given Tarrant's versatility, I think Leigh Brown has the most to worry about. Though I love Leroy.

For me it would be In: Krakouer, Tarrant Out: Blair, Goldsack.

Makes the pies a bit tall, but Taz is quick and can play small

Justin Bieber

Pies have quite some depth down backs and in the middle. Toovey would have alot of pressure on him if he is starting and Reid and Goldy are out.

browny_wce

Toovey is average but he's the only real defensive small backman for Collingwood (as Harry n Shaw like to run off or double team the big threats) n does great shutdown jobs.
I wouldn't say Brown was super, for most of both games Riewoldt was double or triple teamed with Shaw n Mr Over-rated Maxwell coming in for the spoil, it was the other forwards who let St Kilda down. Macaffer is a hack n shud not be considered. Only reason I put Clarke ahead of Johnson is coz of Jonnos age n the fact that Clarke has blistering pace n has that X factor. Would rather Johnson off a HBF

I still find it amazing that Collingwood players STILL get crap LOL.

Toovey has "average" stats in conventional measures, but is by no means an average player.

Nathan Brown is in his 3rd year and is holding down a key position. How many players can do that? I can only think of James Frawley.

Brent Macaffer has been superb this year (particularly the second half of the year), and if you watched the first half the replay, I can't see how you could call him a spud.

Nick Maxwell is an All-Australian, Premiership Captain. You can call him underrated, but it is this simple - Collingwood would have lost the first grand final if not for him, he is a superb leader and one of the elite of the AFL.
