Ha Ha Would be a great start & a boost of confidence for the club if it did happen.

logistically, i think it is very unlikely.  whole new club Vs a club which has to go far into september this year or the coach's head will be taken.  surely not.

i doubt GC will win there first couple of games against top competition. IF they do beat Carlton they will make every club take notice

I think it will say more about Carlton than anything else.

Gotta agree. Suns's rookies will have nerves. So if Carlton lose, they've done something wrong.

It did wonders for the Crows when they first played Port Power in 1997. Crows were beaten but went on that year to win the flag - so JT maybe you should cheer on the GC for one match only. Maybe then Ratten can use it as tool to motivate them to seek the highest goals in order to find atonement for that one match indiscretion  ;)

Roost, whilst that may have happened for Adelaide back in 97' I can't see Carlton being at the same level that the Crows were back then, plus they don't have the same quality of coach that the Crows had in Blight.

If the Blues lose, they will struggle to overcome it rather than use it as motivation IMO.

enjoyed our first showdown victory

I must agree with Fletch.
A loss to GCS in their first game would completely crush their confidence and being a relatively young side they may struggle to recover.
