It is time for everyone's favourite weekly thread. That's right it is time for me to give the odds on this weekends EPL H2H matches ;D So let's get right to it.

Breno FC v "Superstar"
   2.04            1.90

The first match this week pits fifth placed Breno FC up against sixth placed "Superstar". Although both teams have had 5 wins and 3 losses Breno FC have managed to score 49 more points than Superstar so look the likely winners. Breno used his wildcard last week to great effect more than doubling his score from the ronud before by scoing a very nice 67 points to get the win. Superstar also did well last week scoring 60 points in what turned out to be a high scoring round. To this weeks lineup now and neither team has dived in to the transfer market and look set to keep the same linups. If Drogba can return from illness that will give Superstar a big advantage since Chelsea is playing Wolves. I'm tipping Superstar for the win for that reason.

RobsOverAchievers v Yoda's Padawan's
       1.98                       1.93

Current league positions doesn't do this match justice in terms of how big it is. Rob is sitting comfortably on top of the table, whilst Fletch and his Padawan's are languishing down in lowly 15th spot. But the rivalry these two have managed to build up on the FF forums is unmistakable. On paper you would expect Rob to win this easily as he boasts a very strong team, made up of the top players at the top clubs, however this could come back to bite him since 4 of his main scorers are playing against each other in the City v Arsenal match so they will most likely not all score well. Fletch has used 2 trades this round, so he will be at a 4 point disadvantage, but I think that Fletch is going to pull out an upset and pick up the win in a close one. Sorry Rob.

BoredToffee :) v The Mighty Ducks
    2.09                     1.84

Another exciting match as the ever improving BoredToffee takes on the highest scoring team in the league The Mighty Ducks. The Ducks may be the highest scoring team, but currently sit in fourth place after losing a nail biter to Rob last week, whilst BoredToffee has won its last 2 matches to move up into nineth. Both teams have made just the one trade each, with the BoredToffee manager confirming defender Hughes has been dropped with Coleman coming in to the squad. The Ducks on the other hand have traded out Carroll and brought in the in form Bolton striker Johan Elmander. Fabregas returning from injury is a huge boost for BoredToffee, whilst The Ducks have got an injury concern over Kolo Toure, if he doesn't play then he will be replaced by Jones from Blackburn. This is a tough game to call and it could come down to captaincy choice, but I'm going with The Ducks for the win.

Gunz n Rozez v benjy251090
     2.18                1.73

17th placed Gunz n Rozez host seventh placed benjy251090 this week. However a big win by Gunz n Rozez could see them move ahead of benjy. But that doesn't look likely since The Rozez have used 2 trades to benjy's 1, meaning they start the game 4 points behind. Both teams scored similarly last week and it should be another close one. The Rozez will be hoping for the return of Toure and Drogba who both missed last week and had to rely on Jara and Crainey who combined to give the Rozez 2 points, whilst benjy has Sagna out injured too. From the looks of it benjy has the stronger squad and should win this comfortably, but it could all depend on what the transfers each club made were.

Hello v Paul The Octopus
2.11         1.80

Last week I acknowledged that Hello was a fantasy dud, but I think I will have to reconsider that after he scored a very impressive 68 points last week, the most out of all the teams! That gave him his fourth win of the season and moved him up to tenth spot. This week he is up against Paul The Octopus, who picked up his second win of the season last week with the fourth highest score of the round, moving him off the foot of the ladder Just the one trade so far this week by Paul The Octopus, whilst Hello has not bothered to enter the trade market, stating he is happy with his current squad. And it is a very nice squad, consisting of a very solid back line, however Paul appears to have the stronger midfield, which is where most points are scored so Paul should get his third win this week against Hello.

Aussie hawkas v JosipAndTheSkokos
     2.18                      1.73

Aussie hawkas and JosipAndTheSkokos (JAST) are both currently in the bototm half of the table with Aussie hawkas in 11th place and JAST sitting in 14th, so both have a good opportunity to move up the ladder with a win this round. Even though JAST sits futher down the ladder they have in fact scored 47 points more than the hawkas for the first 8 weeks, so it is a little surprising they are so low. In fact only 6 other teams have scored more than JAST so far. Team news now and the hawkas are yet to make a trade, but rumours have circulated that the reason for that is because the team manager has been away on camp, no trades, but they do have the injury issues to defenders Alex and Sagna. Surprisingly their defense is still very strong, consisting of Evra, Terry and Carragher. JAST news now and 2 trades have been made, so they will be starting on negative 4 this week. That shouldn't be enough to get the hawkas the win though and I predict JAST to win this easily.

Hilly's Heroic's v Q's Champions
     2.44                  1.48

After managing to get off the bottom of the ladder Hilly has now slipped back down and face a tough challenge this week against eighth placed Q's Champions. Q is averaging a score of 46.6 points per round, whilst Hilly has only managed to score above 40 twice so far this season, in rounds 1 and 5. So it all looks a bit bleak for Hilly in this match. This could be due to Hilly's refusal to trade out Lampard, and with him and Drogba in doubt it could be tough to work out where a win is coming from this week. Hilly has not yet made any trades, whilst Q has made 2, however will not lose any points after storing 2 free trades. One can only speculate as to what the trades are, but you would expect it would make the team stronger. Q in a canter for this match.

theschtokies v Finally Coaching
   1.86                2.06

This match is being billed as match of the round. And for good reasons too. Finally Coaching are in second place, behind Rob, whilst theschtokies are currently just below them in third. After claiming the highest score of the round 2 weeks ago, Finally Coaching crashed back to earth scoring 12th highest score last week, but that was still good enough for the win. On the other hand theschtokies got the third highest score of the round with 65. theschtokies have perhaps got one of the best forward lines going around with it consisting of Chamakh, Berbatov and Drogba (if fit), but Finally Coaching can almost match that with Tevez, Crouch and Drogba. Even though Finally Coaching is in second place and has scored more points, it looks like theschtokies have the stronger side, so I am tipping them to pick up the 3 points.

Lettuce United v Gregson United FC
    2.08                     1.85

This is the penultimate match of the round in the Fan Footy league, and it should be a cracker, even if not very high scoring. Lettuce United in 13th place take on Gregson United FC (GUFC) who are currently in 16th place. Lettuce United picked up their fourth win of the season last week by 1 point, whilst GUFC was downed by theschtokies for their fifth loss this year. Lettuce United have made the one trade this week, but GUFC have not bothered making any changes to his side at this current time. As with so many other teams, both will be hoping for the return of Drogba to increase their scoring output, but Lettuce United also have injury concerns for Odemwingie and Lampard, forcing them to play with 5 at the back. GUFC look too strong for this match and should get the win.

what am i dreaming v DONS
         2.16                    1.74

The final match of this round sees what am i dreaming (WAID) take on DONS in a battle of the bottom half. WAID are currently down in 18th spot having scored the second least amount of points, with only Hilly having scored less. DONS on the other hand are in 12th place with four wins and four losses. Both teams lost last week so will be looking to rebound this week and pick up the victory. To try and achieve this DONS have made 2 trades to change things up, whilst WAID have kept the faith in their players making no changes so far, meaning WAID gets a 4 point advantage. Even though they will be starting 4 points behind DONS look too strong for WAID and will pick up victory in a close one.

So who do you think will pick up the points this round? Have I made huge errors in judgement? I'm sure Rob will say yes to that :P

CF your are clearly still seething from last week me and fletch dont have a rivalry....as the league suggest he is 15th i am at the other end...that would be like man u and wolves having a rivalry

CrowsFan

Well Man City used to be down in 15th place but they still had a rivalry with United. It's not always about the league positions, but how they get along. I know you and Fletch are always joking, but thought I would just chuck it in there  to make it more interesting.

Oh by the way I had just made a second trade meaning I will start 4 points behind! What was I thinking?
