And Skipper....

What's the asterisk against Tuck?

DazBurg

now getting hale becomes clear with taylor and skipper delisted
probably play up forward with pinch hits in the ruck as 2nd ruck one would imagine

nmack

why get rid of Peterson though? He played 17 games last year and I thought he was pretty good.

Explanation of the *

*As previously outlined, Hawthorn has committed to support Travis Tuck in several ways.

In order to give Tuck the opportunity to be considered for the final spot on the Club’s Rookie List (open until March 2011) - in accordance with AFL rookie list rules - Hawthorn Football Club has had to delist Tuck.

General Manager Football Operations Mark Evans said Tuck will be given the opportunity to secure a spot on the Hawks’ Rookie List.

“Travis will continue to train with the group until March 2011, which will give him the opportunity to be considered for the final spot on Hawthorn’s Rookie List and the Club will continue to support Travis financially at this time,” Evans said.

If Tuck is not selected as a Rookie-listed player, and Tuck wishes, the Club will apply for him to be placed on its 'inactive' list and will continue to support him as a player at Box Hill.

The Club and Tuck then have the option of re-listing him at the end of the 2011 season.

this is what it says on herald sun bout perterson

The livewire forward, 23, is understood to have fallen out of favour with the club post-season after they could not contact him for several weeks as he struggled to cope with the demands of professional sport.

Yeah apparently he went back to the NT. They reported this on Trade radio during trade week.

They could not contact him. There was speculation then that he would be delisted.

I liked Peterson as a player, I had him on my DT. I wonder if Geelong would pick him up in the draft next month. Or the pre-season draft next year.

Out of curiosity, you reckon anyone will pick up Dowler?

8-6 Suited

I don't think he has a whole lot to offer to other clubs, but its potentially viable to see him go into the national draft.

valkorum

I wouldnt say no to Freo picking up Dowler in the Rookie draft.

He wont play AFL footy again. 2 clubs now. Both times he couldn't deal with the demands of professional sport. Too much of a culture difference and homesickness.

I reckon that'll be good for both parties.

I thought Skipper was solid this year and wouldn't be suprised if another team got him to strengthen their depth in the rucks.

surely hooper, peterson, stokes and skipper would get picked up

hawk_88

Hooper and Peterson wont play AFL again.

Stokes is rubbish. He is short, slow can't kick and makes poor decisions. 24 games was 22 too many.

As for Skipper, I can only imagine he is injured as he was fantastic this year.
