Hey, bomberboy here. Today I'll be talking about some of the best rookies for 2011.
Defense: In the defense I reckon Cameron Richardson and andy often are the ones to get.
Richardson has been highly praised by brad scott, his coach who says that "we hope he will play immediately" he also is a mature aged rookie so could a barlowesque player.
Andy otten is returning from injury and is very well priced. He will get some games and score consistently.
Midfield: Harley bennell, David swallow and Andrew krakeour are the ones to watch.
Swallow and bennell are touted to go 1 2 in the draft respectively. They are both guns. Enough said. Krakouer isnt a rookie but will be rookie priced. He scored 290 in the wafl gf. He should score well.
Ruck: zac smith is the one to get. He is the gc #1 ruckman and should play out the year. One to get on the bench.
Foward: Sam day and tom lynch are the ones to get. Sam day is apparently "more athletic than nicnat" and is a goalkicker with a great Mark. Tom lynch is another one with a great Mark an is set I go #4 in the draft.
So that's it. I hope you enjoyed. Drop me a line if I missed anyone.

Thought i might point out that the favourites for top five according to AFL scout s on AFL.com.au are-
1.Swallow
2.Bennell
3.Day
4.Gaff
5.Heppell
So Tom Lynch unlikely to go 4th as there are a ton of talented midfielders to consider first you can add to that list of 5 Polec, Atley, Caddy and also Gorringe the ruckman

IMO he will be 6-13 6th if the Tigers go 4 a Tall Forward to partner JJ, if so it will be out of him or Smedts, if the tigers don't i would say 8-13.

Good write up though i heard Day can kick 60 metres without effort and can jump higher then Nic nat. and he hasen't even concentrated on AFL yet.

There is a predicted draft on the AFL website, and i have posted one in the AFL section of the forum based on who i think teams need if you want to check those out. ;)

Don't really think you can call Andy Otten a rookie, since he isn't, plus he is a little bit more expensive than the rookies. For the defenders you should put in Mzungu and Talia

Maca24

where do you think darling will be in draft?
agreed otten not a rookie, 3rd year player.

I think anywhere from 9-16, or Richmond could get him, as a key forward in my phantom draft write up i predicted him to end up at Melbourne with pick 12

Haven't heard much on darling, but I think he is really good. Sorry about putting otten as a rookie just that I needed to put him in as he is cheap. Mzungu is supposed to be an absolute gun and has a cool name. Wat more can you want?
P.s this is my first time attemptig something like this so any tips would be appreciated :)

Darling would be good but has a past that could put some teams off. Talent wise looks good from what i've seen.

Day is an athletic freak but doubt he'll go 1 or 2. Glad we got him instead of the Aussie Cricket team ;).

I notice he goes from a number one pick to a first round pick ;)

Maca24

beat me to it bomberboy. i was wondering how he dropped from a top 5 pick so quickly. recruiting these days is 50% ability 50% maturity

Justin Bieber

Yeah. Things like these can really set you back. But with his talent shouldn't set him back too far. However, he will be kept a very close eye on early in his career.
