Summary:

Michael Firrito? Consistent Kangaroos defender, but hardly sets the world on fire. 2 small centuries were his highlights this year, with a standard deviation of below 20, at least you know what you're getting. I admire the player, and feel is a good cog in the rising Roo machine.

Should be more of the same I would think. Firrito did average 19 touches a game, and hopefully that's enough for him to keep his MPP status. In 2010, he averaged 8.73 kicks per game, and 10.55 hand balls a game. If he can switch that around and start kicking the ball (effectively) more often, perhaps he does have some value.

Got me thinking now.... In matches where Firrito has more hand balls than kicks, he averages 76. In other matches he averages 79.7. So, not that much of a difference really.

Decision:

Firrito is boring for the most part. A poor-man's fantasy choice. However, what does make him somewhat interesting is his MPP status if he maintains it. Unlikely from me however, unless I'm desperate for a Kangaroos which I probably won't be (Anthony, Ziebell, Harvey, etc). Other likely DEF/MID MPPs who are cheaper than Firrito look more attractive - like Jason Gram, Mark McVeigh and Andrew Walker.
