"Superstar" v what am i dreaming
     2.03                  1.90

Sitting in 7th place with 4 wins a 3 losses, Superstar takes on what am i dreaming, who is equal 17th with 3 wins and 4 losses. Superstar has scored 35 points more than what am i dreaming so just looking at the stats you would think it will be an easy win for Superstar. But that is just not the case. Both teams have got some star players Drogba, Malouda and Bale, but the rest of what am i dreaming's team in my opinion seems that little bit stronger. Superstar has Elmander as his second forward, but what am i dreaming has Berbatov. The defense is perhaps even, or slightly favouring what am i dreaming, whilst Superstar probably takes the midfield. Neither team has made a trade this week currently so there will be no advantages there. This will be a close one, but I am tipping what am i dreaming to get the win.

DONS v Lettuce United
2.13            1.78

It's funny how averaging just 1 more point per week can put you 8 places ahead of the other team. And that is what is going on in this match with DONS sitting just in the top half of the table in 9th up against Lettuce United, who have scored just 7 points less, but find themselves equal 17th. For teams that score so similarly it will come as a great advantage to Lettuce United that DONS has made 3 trades this round, which will give Lettuce United an 8 point lead going in to the game. With Lampard a huge possibility to return this week after missing the last 4 games it is looking like everything is falling in to place for Lettuce United. The forward line looks very similar with 2 of the 3 the same in each team, Lettuce United defense is stronger, but DONS has the stronger midfield. I am tipping Lettuce United for an easy win, but it could all depend on what the 3 trades DONS made were.

Gregson United FC v theschtokies
        1.95                    1.95

If you thought it was strange that just 7 points difference separates DONS and Lettuce United, well then this game will make your head explode! Gregson United FC - or as I like to call them: GUFC - sit in 13th place with 3 wins and 4 losses, scoring 315 points in the process. On the other hand theschtokies sit in 4th position with 5 wins and 2 losses, having scored themselves 318 points. Not surprisingly then that their scores last week were only 1 point apart. That is only 3 points the difference between the teams yet theschtokies sit 9 places higher on the table. Looking at this match up, no teams have made trades yet so should go in level to start. This game is far to close to call, but I am tipping GUFC to win by 2.

Finally Coaching v Hilly's Heroic's
     1.31                    2.74

Third placed Finally Coaching takes on 19th placed Hilly's Heroics. Finally Coaching is the third highest scoring team, whilst Hilly has scored the least, with a whopping 118 more points scored by Finally Coaching. Finally Coaching scored the highest score last round with a very juicy 73 points. Such is the strength of his team he was able to put Bale on the bench! Hilly has made his first 2 trades since round 4, so wont lose any points in a match which was already difficult enough for him. Finally Coaching does have defensive worries though with both Alex and Richards not expected to play for a few weeks. I assume that he will make a necessary trade to fix that. Even if he doesn't trade either I feel this game is already a foregone conclusion and Finally Coaching will win comfortably.

Q's Champions v Aussie hawkas
     1.82                  2.08

Aussie hawkas are cueently ahead of Q's Champions with 4 wins to the Champions 3, but if Q wins then he will jump ahead of the hawkas as he has scored more points. No trades yet by either team, yet both have got injury concerns, Q has Alex injured, whilst the hawkas have Alex and possibly Lampard, as no one seems to know when he will be back. In my opinion you know you are in trouble when you have got Robbie Keane starting in your team (both in real life and fantasy), and that is currently something Aussie hawkas are dealing with. As teams currently stand put down Q for the win.

JosipAndTheSkokos v Hello
           1.83                   2.09

JosipAndTheSkokos (JATS) lines up this weekend against the self professed "Fantasy Dud" and his team Hello. Sitting in 16th place HP could just well be on to something with that statement :P JATS are currently just inside the top half sitting in 10th place. No changes to the JATS side that scored an average 38 points last round, whilst Hello have made just the one trade this week, with the manager confirming that Ivanovic had been brought in to the side but he did not mention who had been replaced. My guess would be that he has replaced Skrtel. JATS has the injured Alex in his side so may choose to trade hime or bring Luke Young off the bench. What is clear when you look at the lineups is Hello has a much stronger defense, but JATS has the stronger midfield and forward line. For this reason I am tipping JATS to walk away with the points this week.

Paul The Octopus v Gunz n Rozez
       1.72                   2.19

Paul The Octopus last week proved without a doubt he is the most unlucky guy to be playing fantasy sport! Last week he scores the 3rd highest score of the round and yet he still loses! Because of this he sits bottom of the ladder, the only team to have only won 1 game all season, even though he has scored more points than 13 of the other 19 teams in the league. This week he is up against Gunz n Rozez, who yes that's right has scored less points than Paul The Octopus. Paul has given Gunz n Rozez a 4 point advantage after making 2 trades, but will still be confident of getting the win. Both teams look pretty similar, but for the players which they have different the players from The Octopus look stronger, so pencil them in for the win.

benjy251090 v BoredToffee :)
    1.68                 2.29

BoredToffee got the second highest score last week, but this week they are up against the solidly performing benjy251090. benjy is currently in 6th place with 4 wins and 352 points, whilst BoredToffee is 14th with 3 wins and 314 points. benjy's team looks very solid in each area of the park, with perhaps his weakest starter being Elmander. Although he has this strong team benjy has still decided to wield the axe on one of his players, and that is probably his substitute Hatem Ben Arfa after he became yet another victim of Nigel De Jong's style of play, which involves injuring the opposition as often as he can. BoredToffee should be boosted by the returns of Evra (rested for last match) and Fabregas. However from his score of 59 points last week, 30 of those points were scored by VDV, whilst 6 of his other players contributed just 9 between them. BoredToffee needs to get a more balanced squad if he wants to challenge week in and out. benjy for the win in this one.

The Mighty Ducks v RobsOverAchievers
      1.94                        1.96

Do games get much bigger than this one? The two pre season favourites currently sit first and second on the ladder. Both have 5 wins and 2 losses, and only 11 points separates them!! These blockbusters are what this game is all about! Both teams have taken different roads to make it to the top, with only 4 of their 15 man squads the same. Very hard game to pick who will win because both teams have pros and cons. Rob has definitely got the stronger forward line, which consists of Chamakh, Berbatov and Tevez, compared to The Ducks line up of Berbatov, Carroll, and Bent, who has come in to the side to replace Anelka. Some may think of that as a downgrade but The Ducks manager has his reasons. Rob may have the stronger forwards, but I would say The Ducks have the better midfield. Both teams have Malouda and Arshavin, but The Ducks remaining players are VDV and Nani, whereas Rob has Modric and Pennant. The defense again may go slightly in The Ducks favour. So this game will be very close and could rely on captain choice.

Yoda's Padawan's v Breno FC
       2.14                  1.77

Very hard game to call who will win because of the fact that according to my sources Breno FC have used their wild card this week, which means anything can happen. Generally the idea of the wild card is that it improves your team scoring. Breno had been scoring very well before last weeks poor score of 35, but there are only 3 teams who have scored more than him. With Yoda's Padawan's making 3 trades this round, he starts 4 points behind since he had 2 free trades up his sleeve. This handicap will make it hard work for Yoda, and they should struggle to beat a team who will score better after using the wild card.

So what is everyone's opinions on the matches. Who will win? And what will you do to make sure you get the victory in your game?

I want to get rid of keane
You should get his team mate Crouch, or if you wanted to go cheaper you could get Elmander

Hawka

haha a few mins be4 u posted elmander i got him thx anyways  ;)

CrowsFan

I see you made 2 trades. What was the other one?

BoredSaint

I dunno what to do to my team....

CrowsFan

I see you just made 2 trades BS. Care to enlighten us what they are?

benjy251090

I had 1.2 in the bank so I thought Ben Arfa to Charlie Adam, he is currently the 3rd highest scoring mid and was worth the .2 this week seeing Sagna is out until November, so I will be getting rid of Sagna next week.

CrowsFan

Yeah fair enough benjy. Will you play him on the field this week against Man City?
I was so close to picking Adam for my original team, but ended up picking Dorrans from west brom, who has ended up being a huge flop!

benjy251090

yeah, probably, who is newcastle playing? if they are playing someone bad i will give carroll the start over adam, one of them is in because of sagnas absence

CrowsFan

Newcastle is playing Wigan at home so could be a good idea to go for Carroll

benjy251090

Yeah, i hadn't paid much attention to who the teams were playing yet, so i will do it soon, thanks mate

CrowsFan

No worries. I am the soccer forum coach. I am here to help! :P
