Simon Phillips and Pick 35 to Port for the Compensation pick for Nathan Krakouer

At least they don't pay that one

valkorum

Not sure who wins here because I dont know much about Simon Philips.  GC win by securing another compo pick.

GC are actually killing it now. There getting all these draft picks, no one is noticing, they'll pretty much have every player who enters the draft this year, the only thing that could make this better for GC is if it's a Dream Draft like 2001 (I think) with GAJ, Hodge and more.

roo boys!

Yeah GC are doing really well so far...

GC have an unfair advantage though :P. They get a bunch more picks, more cap and access to uncontracted players. Not to mention the ability to prelist players and trade. They've done that quite a bit.

GC might have come out on top unless Phillips shows something.

Dislike Phillips sorry. Therefore Gold Coast killed it with this one.

Won`t be looked at for DT/SC this season.

Phillips is a strong proffesional finisher with good experience, his head is in the right place - something that Krakouer was far from  ;)

Simon Phillips
D.O.B:
5 April 1987
Club:
Port Adelaide
Honours:
2005 NAB AFL Rookie Draft Pick No. 54
2006 Rookie Elevation
2006 AFL Debut
2010 Norwood (SANFL) to Port Adelaide

A genuine ball magnet that has tenacity and an uncanny sense for the goals, Simon had a fantastic 2005 season with the Sandringham Dragons, gaining Vic Metro selection. Simon's work ethic and his tackling ability impressed the coaching staff at Sydney, earning him a place in their side after the 2005 Rookie Draft.

In 2006, Simon was promoted from the rookie list, making his senior debut mid season. He played four senior games, but showed impeccable skills around the goals to suggest that he can develop into a dangerous crumber for the Swans.

In 2007, Simon continued his development at senior level with the hope of adding to his senior appearances. However, after an injury interrupted year he was delisted from Sydney later that year.

Phillips played the last three seasons with Norwood in the SANFL and was a key member of their finals campaign in 2010. He has played over 50 games with the Club and has gained an immense amount of experience playing senior football.

On October 11, 2010, Phillips was traded to the Port Adelaide Football Club as a pre-listed player for the Gold Coast Football Club and his dream of playing AFL football has been re-lighted.

See how he goes as 2nd chance people do sometimes grab it. Will be watching NAB re Simon

I want to know where he'll fit in? Hitchcock, Ebert, Gray, Davo and M Motlop are crumbing forwards. I feel Port need a more key position fwds? Maybe if Gray goes into the midfield... if he has the tank and stays fit. Come off the bench as a pinch hitting crumbing fwd?

MTTY

I reckon he could be a pretty good player for the power as a forward
