Looks like the deal is about to be signed Griffin to Freo for pick 61

I think it's a really good trade by Freo. Get a nice back up for Sandi who can play straight away. Will give Clarke some time to develop and take the pressure off him.

Pick 61 I think is more than fair for him. Especially since he wanted to come back.

I agree - good depth cover for Freo

classy work by the crows though. griffen needed to go and they let him even though they came off 2nd best.

Classy by Freo as well seeing as we dont really need him.  We could have played Clarke if Sandi gets injured but now we will most likely play Griffin.

Nah, Johnson would be floating man in the back line and Kep would play forward/ruck (if he gets a game)

Yep I think Kep becomes a depth player and will plug holes when required.

the sub rule could actually help Kepler... Is Griffin very versatile or just a standard ruckman with no tricks?

From my understanding he is a tap ruckman and doesnt have much of a forward game.

When I've seen him play for Centrals in SANFL they didn't let him go too often past centre half fwd (younger Westhoff did fwd ruck work). This fit in with Crows structure too (Tippett up fwd).
Having said that when he did get outside 50, he can be a long direct finisher with a nice long kick and is very aerobic for his size. Lack of strength is his weakness and injury - possibly blamed on the fact that his underdeveloped body was punished at AFL level whilst Maric was developing at Port Adelaide Magpies.

Good insight the Rooster - cheers

No worries val  ;)

I was selfishly pretty happy to see him go because he generally tore James Craig apart when Centrals played Roosters.
Now if we could just get those Gowans twins to retire the rest of the SANFL might have a shot. (Centrals have won 9 of the last 11 GF's here)

Nice one - always nice when a trade/draft helps your local team.  Its the other way round for me - I go for the Sharks and we lose our best young talent to the draft so we get smashed in the league - but always do well in the colts.
