Sam Gilbert
2010 Stats:
Games: 22
Average: 92.6
Total Score: 2037 (ranked 66 overall)
Centuries: 7 of 22
Standard Deviation: 21.3
High:122 (Round 2 and 11)
Low: 45 (Round 17)
Starting Price: 509,100
High Price: 530,100
Low Price: 365,600

Summary: Sam Gilbert had another consistent 2011 Season, playing every game and averaging 92. He is now one of the best rebounding half backs in the AFL, and is a very important part of St.Kilda. Struggled a little later in the season with a forward tag.

The Crystal Ball:
Price: 491,800
According to last years magic number

Price:468,200
According to m0ntys fanplanner

Position:DEF

Verdict: Shown he can be very consistent, and seems like a very reliable choice. May come down to having too many Saints in same defence (Goddard,Fisher). On the short list for me.
Will you pick Gilbert in 2011?

DazBurg

i do like gilbert will either start or be upgrade target for me most likely an upgrade for me
they should give him mpp
i know they won't but ross lyon said in 2011 his gonna try him forwar more after trying it on grand final day

BratPack

I agree with you Bro

If he stays DEF only: Upgrade Target
If he earns the MPP: Lock him in boys

Maca24

if he is only defender which is 99 percent likely to happen, then its a no but will look at him mid season.

I like Gilbert.... at that price he is a chance to slip in. 50-50 for me.

Quality player, could be All-Aus chance next year

Barlow 21

Hard to fit in with God in the backs

Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert... tsk tsk tsk

... Definitely has a lot too prove now.

Junktimer

guess thats one way to look at it ossie.

gimp off field so hes gotta let his game do the talking.

Hawka

u cant rely pick him if u have goddard as defender as welll

ossie85

You kind of can. St. Kilda only have the one bye, and Goddard is MPP. It is workable

workable, but i agree with hawka and barlow21 - hard to fit him in with Goddard when other options are available.

SydneyRox

I was thinking about having him and God but after the last few days he may be the one to suffer?

Boomz

Was looking at him too but they have dumped a massive heap of shower on him and look like continuing to use him as the scape goat so I think it will effect his game...

MTTY informs us that Gilbert will be FWD/DEF MPP! Changes in people's opinions now?
