Collingwood will get Krakouer. This, I am happy with. With the retirement of O'Bree and Lockyer, it gives legs to a midfielder/flank player or if Davis goes, another small forward.

I actually know Andrew Krakouer personally, he is a great guy with an extreme ambition drive, and will fit right in with the Premiers.

Will he get midfield time or forward time? In that midfield I'll be betting forward time :P. Makes Davis very expendable now ;).

A great get for the Pies to add some more dash to the line up. And this signing could see Tarrant coming in (For Davis of course).

I don't honestly think Taz will be traded, or that we are overly interested for the asking price. Freo wants a premiership player, and have asked for Goldsack. That clearly wont happen there. Also Tarrant has apparantly threatened to retire if he doesn't get traded to Collingwood.

I expect he will be used in Leon Davis' role in the forward, and rotated up to the wing and back. It will allow Ben Johnson to play back a bit more as well as he did successfully in the Grand Final replay.

Freo will lower their expectations by mid week ;). Would rather get something for him rather than nothing.

Krakouer will be a cracking player for you guys ;).

This is interesting!

Not sure I like giving away out top pick AGAIN, but it worked ok last time

roo boys!

I think this is good news for the Pies, they have a pretty young side anyway so aren't in desperate need of that draft pick.

The link title of the story is so long ;D

Andrew Krakouer is an awesome pick up. Having watched a few wafl games this year, I'm sure he could play the same role that Leon Davis did in 2009. Will be a great pick up for DT too and I admire him for what he's acheived since he's come out of jail.

It could be a good move but I'm not sure he has quite the pedigree of Luke Ball who we got with selection 30 in the pre season draft last year!

I know he is ready to go but I do worry about not continuing to invest in youngsters given the amazing track record we have. Lets not forget we got Beams at 28, Dawes at 28, and we have given 25 for Krakouer. A more appropriate comparison is big Leroy who at 73 had been to other clubs, was in his late 20's. Not much of a risk at 73.

A good insight here (possibly Caroline Wilson's first postive article in 15 years although I suspect some junior has written it & she's taken the by-line credit).

It will be interesting following his progress. No matter where he ended up, I would have wished him all the best.

It is a good article, but lets not paint his as a hero. He did assault someone.

That said, he seems to have rehabilitated and everyone deserves a second chance.

Agreed, he has much penance to serve but he'd achieve his hero status if he comes through the other side. Imagine what that would mean to the indigenous communities throughout the land as well as everyone else.
