Low: 62 (Round 8 )
Standard Deviation: 26.25

High Price: $520,400 (round 3)
Lowest Price: $435,000 (round 10)

Summary:

Cornes had another stellar year, playing all 22 games and picking up the Power B&F. He continually defies injury, not missing a game since 2003. This year he improved his SC average from the low 90’s in the previous 2 years to back over 100. It still falls short of his outstanding year in 2007, when he averaged 112.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number
Price: $542,200

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $516,300

Position: MID

Despite his consistency and the fact that he plays every game, Cornes continues to slip under a lot of teams radars. Is it because he is perceived to be more of a DT specialist?

Decision:

Cornes will always be unique in SC, as he does have that DT specialist feel about him. He averaged higher in DT in 2008 and 2009.

However, he still manages to achieve some high scores in SC, and the fact that he plays every game can’t be ignored.

For me Cornes is a 50/50. It’s about finding room in the midfield, when you can pick up midfielders who have more upside for the same price. If he shows to have a different game in the pre-season, like kicking more goals, under Primus then I might consider him.

Great read that one :)

Bit surprised to see those sets of numbers, outstanding really.

For me Kornes is getting on a bit, and at that price, will probably look elsewhere.

However, not many other Power players are on my radar, and if I want to select players from every team, he suddenly comes into consideration!

He only turns 28 in January. Not that old... Although it does feel that way.

Haha are you serious Kornes is only turning 28? I could have sworn he was over 30! Guess he has just been around for so long it seems like it.
For me I think I will pass. For around the same price you can pick up Kieren Jack who I think has a much bigger upside.

BoredSaint

was gonna pick him last year but chose higgins instead.. damn.. definite worth a punt this year

benjy251090

had him from the start of last year :) maybe not this year as he had too many 90's and at his price would rather get a Jack or someone

Maca24
