Apologies to all for not doing the odds last week, but I was very busy with uni assignments and study for an exam. But I have the week off this week so I have had plenty of time to do the odds this week. So here they are...

Yoda's Padawan's v "Superstar"
      1.73                     2.18

Both these teams have 3 wins and 3 losses each, but it is Yoda's Padawan's who sit higher up the ladder having scored 21 points more than Superstar so far this season. Last weeks line up saw them field 6 of the same players, including the same captain, and with no trades made by either team it will come down to the other 5 players on the field. In this match up it looks like the Padawan's have the edge with their 5 players being Robinson, Vidic, Barton, Nani, and Berbatov, whilst Superstars players are Friedal, Hangeland, Evra, Scholes, and Dempsey. Nani and Berbatov have been in terrific form so far and should see Yoda's Padawan's over the line.

Breno FC v The Mighty Ducks
  1.95                1.95

Undoubtedly the match of the round! This game pits third placed Breno FC against The Mighty Ducks who currently sit in second place and equal first for points scored. The Ducks have managed to score just 11 points more than Breno FC so far, an average of under 2 points more per game. These teams differ greatly and from the 15 man squads only 5 players are the same (Cech, Malouda, Arshavin, Carroll, Carson). Again no trades have been made yet and BFC go into this match with all players healthy and fit. The Ducks on the other hand have some injury concerns especially in the defense with Konchesky a definite non-starter, and Richards doubtful to make the match day squad. Cleverley is also expected to miss with a knee injury. These concerns could see The Ducks make a trade, but no more than 1 as they will not want to start any points behind BFC. This game is too close to call and could end up being 68-68 just like the AFL grand final.

RobsOverAchievers v benjy251090
        1.56                     2.50

Preseason favourite Rob is sitting where everyone expected him to be, in first place with just one loss to his name, and that came in the first round. His opponent this week, benjy, has been scoring well, with only the top 3 teams scoring more than him, however he has been unlucky losing his last 3 games. The last 2 losses were by a total of 7 points combined. However with that being said Rob still goes in to this match as heavy favourite. Like many teams there are a few lot of players from Chelsea and Arsenal in these 2 teams with 4 in Robs team and 5 in benjy's. With these 2 teams playing each other this week there could be some low scores because they can't all score highly. Rob and benjy go in on level footing with only one trade made for benjy so far this week. Safe money is on Rob for the win.

BoredToffee :) v Paul The Octopus
     2.09                   1.79

Paul The Octopus is not having as much luck in this league as he did at the World Cup. He currently sits in last place with only 1 win from 6 matches. This is surprising considering he has scored more points than half the other teams in the league, including the team he is pitted against this week, BoredToffee, who are currently in 16th place with 2 wins. BoredToffee haven't made any trades so far this round, whilst Paul The Octopus has made 1. This trade was most likely getting rid of Konchesky, but we can only speculate about who was brought in. The Octopuses luck is sure to change soon and they should pick up the win here.

Gunz n Rozez v JosipAndTheSkokos
     2.24                   1.70

JosipAndTheSkokos could possibly be even more unlucky than Paul The Octopus. Only 4 teams have scored more than The Skokos this season, yet they have only managed to get 2 victories and so sit in 14th place. This week they are up against 11th placed Gunz n Rozez, who have 3 wins, but have scored 23 points less than The Skokos. The Rozez score a miserable 22 points last week, which was the second lowest score of the round, whereas The Skokos scored a respectable 43 points, however lost 8 points due to transfers and lost the match by 4! Lost points doesn't look like it will be an issue this week for them with only the 1 trade made, which again is most likely replacing Konchesky. The Rozez haven't made any trades, but should consider making a switch if they want to get a result from this game.

Hello v Q's Champions
2.07           1.81

Two of FanFooty's favourites do battle this week with HP putting his team Hello up against Master Q's team, aptly named Q's Champions. Hello could possibly be the only team without any players from Chelsea, which so far this year has proven to be a mistake with the Chelsea players racking up points, but last week it paid off as Chelsea lost for the first time. If this happens again this week when they play Arsenal then Hello could be in with a good shot of winning since Q's Champions currently have 3 Chelsea players. But if as expected Chelsea get the win then I can't see Hello getting the win. Although whatever happens this match should be a close one, with Q getting the victory.

Aussie hawkas v Finally Coaching
    2.29                   1.66

Sixth placed Aussie hawkas take on fourth placed Finally Coaching in what should be an interesting encounter. Both teams have 4 wins each, but Finally Coaching have accumulated 36 points more than Aussie hawkas from the 6 rounds. That is an average of 6 points more per round. Because of this Finally Coaching has the edge, and should be expecting to pick up his fifth win of the season. To the team news now and the hawkas will be hoping that Lampard returns this week to strengthen his midfield, whilst Finally Coaching has the injury concern of Micah Richards to worry about. Alex and Tevez are the only similar players in these teams, but Finally Coaching looks too strong for the Aussie hawkas, who rely too much on clean sheets playing a 5-3-2 formation.

Hilly's Heroic's v Gregson United FC
     1.98                    1.93

Hilly's Heroic's are on the rise, picking up victories in the past 2 rounds after restraining from trading, something I am sure he found very hard to do. To Hilly trades are like candy, he just cant get enough! When Hilly is involved in a match it is hard to compare total scores of each team since he has lost so many points in transfers, but I will do it anyway! Hilly has a total of 220 points, compared to GUFC's total score of 262 points. Going by that you would think GUFC have it in the bag, but it wont be that easy on closer inspection. There are only 3 players in both teams and they are Bale, Berbatov and Drogba. It would be surprising if GUFC started with 3 Newcastle players again this week as they are playing Man City, so he will most likely substitute them with the Stoke players on his bench. I think this will come down to whether Lampard plays or not. If he does Hilly will get the win, if not GUFC will pull out the victory.

theschtokies v DONS
   1.62               2.35

If TheSkokos are the unluckiest team in the league then the DONS are definitely the luckiest. The DONS have managed to win 4 games so far, but have only scored more points than 5 other teams in the league! Yet they sit in seventh place. To be fair theschtokies have only scored 8 more points than DONS, but have also managed to pick up 4 wins. DONS will be starting this round 8 points behind theschtokies, which almost gives the win to theschtokies before the round begins, unless the trades score highly. One can only speculate what these trades were with the only obvious injury concern was Dembele. Because of these trades I am tipping theschtokies for the win.

Lettuce United v what am i dreaming
    1.89                      2.02

The final match of the round pits Lettuce United, who are currently 13th, against what am i dreaming, who are 17th. However Lettuce United have only managed to score 1 point more than what am i dreaming in the first 6 rounds which shows how close this league is. On the trades front Lettuce United have made 2 trades (again most likely getting rid of Konchesky, and possibly Lampard), but don't lose any points as they had 2 free trades stored. what am i dreaming has made just the 1 trade this week, possibly trading out Richards who is in doubt. Without knowing who has been brought in it is hard to determine a winner, but I believe Lettuce United will leave with the 3 points.

So who do you all think will get the victories this week? Am I way off with my tips, or will there be a surprise win? Tell me your thoughts here

Anyone else want to chime in? I only bother doing this so we can get some discussion going on the matches, but I wont bother if no one bothers saying anything

chrisuzz

Are we allowed to say what trades we did??

CrowsFan

Course you can if you really want to

Boomz

Yea it's great CF ;) Shame no one seems to be interested in it atm...

CrowsFan

Yeah it takes me ages to write up the whole thing so I would appreciate it if people then got a discussion going

chrisuzz

news just in:
what am i dreaming coach speaks publicley "I am going to give Richards a starting position as i have seen evidence that he should be playing this weekend, also Rooney is out and i have brought in cover for him, that cover has also one himself the captains armband. That's all i have to say." is what the manager said at 7:00

CrowsFan

Does the what am i dreaming coach want to elaborate on who the replacement for Rooney is? My guess is Berbatov??

Boomz

Coach chrisuzz replies with "no comment" :P

CrowsFan

Well that does make stuff interesting BOOMZ. How many people did you get rid of?

Boomz

um... actually I'm not sure lol think 5...

CrowsFan

You should play around with it boomz. Clear everyone from your squad and start again and see what arrangements you can come up with

Boomz

I was thinking that... I'm still looking at it now ;)
