Adam Cooney

2010 Stats
Games: 20
Total Score: 1981 (Ranked 48th overall, 38th amongst midfielders)
Average Score: 99.05 (Ranked 39th overall, 34th amongst midfielders)
High: 171 (Round 9)
Low: 9 (Round 21) (injured)
Standard Deviation: 37.18
Centuries: 9 out of 20
Starting Price: $484,100
High Price: $547,000 (round 12)
Lowest Price: $434,500 (round 21)

Summary:

Up and down year for the Coon dog. Showed glimpses of his 2008 form, but like the Bulldogs he was patchy. Cooney finished the year with a hamstring injury against Sydney in Round 21. If you take out that performance of 9 in Round 21 you have an average of 103.79 (not too bad) and a Std Dev of 31.38, with a lowest score of 56. So the above stats don't really tell the true story!

He averaged 107 in his Brownlow year, so 104 (ignoring the injury) is not too bad for a patchy year...

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number
Price: $551,200

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $500,900

Position: MID

Too expensive using last year's magic number, but might be worth it using m0nty's fanplanner

Decision:

Cooney is 50/50 for me. He could be that unique X-factor that helps me win games, or he could be a good upgrade if he has a poor start to the season?

Depends on whether I look at Boyd, Cross, Gia, or Lake...

Could be worth a look if he's listed at the FanPlanner price. However personally I think I'd take Cross out of those Dogs midfielders

Cooney for some reason has never been much or a target for me. May upgrade to him later on. But his starting price is higher than he ever got last year, so will wait and see

Aidans Blues

Had him this year, he was pretty inconsistent and cost me a few times.

50/50

Bosh

Personally no, rather someone much more consistent.

Cooney isnt get much love in the teams ive seen.
hes a fairly cheap prem, I had him last year and did very well for me before he got injured.
hes youngish so potentially has more improvement in him and could become more inconsistent.

My only concern is that he cops a tag which i tend to dislike, but surprised he hasnt been in many teams

Very good player, people don't realise how good he is.

He is very expensive though, doesn't seem to be much value there.

I had him last year too. You're exactly right bosh, he was very inconsistent when you compare him to Boyd and Cross. I'm sure there are much better prospects around his price range.

A definate NO for me.

yep cops the tag & as stated there is Boyd who stands out as more consistent so no for Cooney

Matty Boyd will be one of my first players locked in. Time after time last year he outscored Coondog  :'( and it cost me many matches.

Griffin could be the imporver of the lot. Was their best player in the finals by a mile when guys like Gia & even Boyd (a little) went missing.
