With all this kerfuffle going on, I must admit that I don't know WHATS going to happen.
People seem to lie about what they intend to do.
Gablett lied about whether he had made up his mind to go north, when he obviously always intended to go.
Now you guys are saying that Bomber will be an assistant coach at Essendon either next season or in 2012!
Bomber has ALWAYS said that he wants to get OUT of coaching and concentrate on a land development business he's started.
From what I have read I believe Bomber WILL leave Geelong before trade week. I DON'T believe he will go to Essendon as an "assistant coach".
Why the hell WOULD he.
The Cats will name another senior coach over the summer before training starts again.
There will not be wholesale sackings, but some of the older plyers may be told that they won't be sacked, but may not get another senior game, hence, they will retire gracefully.
Geelong WILL finish in the top 4 next season and kick Collingwoods arse from here to breakfast.

bunyip bomber said he'll never be an Senior Coach, he never said anything about being an assistant.. he hasn't written it out.. he hasn't said if he leaves the coaching job he wont be out of football..

Fair enough Hilly, I just think it makes no sense after what has been said to go  to Essendon as an assistant to someone he may love, but has no coaching experience.
I know they do it all the time, but mainly by coaches who have been sacked.
I can't think of anyone who has quit as a senior coach and gone to another team as an assistant.

I think Geelong would like to have a senior coach in prior to the draft so (IF) Bomber does not respond / answer promptly maybe Sanderson or Hinkley (release from Suns) would be the next coach maybe.
