yea looks guaranteed. was always going to happen.  :D

supercoach addict

Is he actually coming on board in an official role, or is he was gonna just chill with Hirdy and give him some general advice?

Frank Costa stated on ten news tonight whilst he was visiting David Evans that he was happy for Bomber to join Essendon. Was the best news :) :) :) :) He will join the Bombers as a mentor to Hird.

I don't think he'll be joining Hird in the box on match day, will be just assisting him part time.

Welcome home Bomber. Back where you belong :)
Frank Costa has been rather loose lipped lately  ;)

Would you blame him Roost? :P.

MASSIVE coup by the Dons 8). Even if he isn't the coach going to be working behind the scenes is better than nothing!

I want him to be director of coaching :-\ Hopefully he does that ;D

Doubt it though, he is most likely only talking to Hird to find out how he gets that delightful colour in his hair :P

dont think it matters what he does alex as long as he is there he will be valuable. im sure whatever role he has he will show hirdy the ropes.

Doesn't it worry any of you guys that your senior coach needs advice from outside the team. That even your most inexperienced assistant coach is better credentialed than the senior coach?

I wouldn't say Goodwin is better credentialed...

Agree with that Alex.

OK, but you get what I'm trying to say though. Don't get me wrong, all power to Hird, but he may have wanted to do an apprenticeship as an assistant somewhere before taking on a senior roll. it's a big ask.
He has a potentially terrific team on his hands. Maybe if things don't work  out he will defer to Bomber in 2012 and assist him. There's a lot of water to flow under the bridge till then though.
Hirdy just might turn out to be a good coach and get you into the finals next season.
At least he can depend on you supporters to give him encouragement, you guys love him to death.
A lot of people will be watching Essendon with interest next season.

Maca24

meh i guess.  :P
i bet we will do better than cats  ;)

I wanted him to do an apprenticeship ::). Either that or be an assistant coach for a few years before going for senior roles.
