Big Ruck problems

My ruck dilema

Lurenburg out for 12 weeks (he's gone)
Tippet, White and Jacobs left
$158,000 in the bank

What should I do:
1.Trade him out now for someone around $400,000 (was thinking Gardiner?)
2.Double trade with a rookie and get a gun (Fraser or Sandilands)
3.Put White on the park and ride it out a while and take the points hit maybe pick up a falling Hille
4. someone's better option

17 trades in the bank and cant get Cox

Why did u have Leuenberger in the first place?

Tippett is hardly a good ruckman, and with Leuenberger as 2nd ruck....

For all the coaches with Cox/McIntosh they have already gained 351 points over u in just 3 rounds!


But anyway, I would trade him for another rookie (Meesen/Graham), and put White on the field

A few reasons:

1. You can't go using trades wildly this early - (No double trades where one will do)
2. It will save some cash - and then when all the rookies go up in price....
3. No point spending that cash on your ruckmen - only 2 out of your 22 players

I went went weak on the rucks and am real strong elsewhere so watto I guess your right with the rookie theory as Im sure I am making up the points around the ground.

I am only going for the Leauge win as our 16 have cash on the line. Im sure I right for a while and you are right I need to keep the trades in hand for the leauge win and finals.

PS I went Lurenburg on a tip from a Brisi mate that he was in for a good season!!!!

Tony - not sure if this is dumb or not......

But ride two of White or Jacobs or Tippett for one week - not great but its just a stop-gap.

This week - Charman will have played his 3rd game - and after only playing second fiddle in Rds 1 & 2, where he scored 27/28 in SC....regardless of this week his price will plummet from 335k. And you know that he will now be #1 R in Brisbane.

Potentially, if his price drops 40kish, then you can upgrade Leue to him with little more than another 40k

I'm thinking same after studying the R's all morning.....

ouch... plainly- your stuffed without using 2- the direct trade leunberger -> tippet would have been very useful- but now, with all the mid priced, solid rucks skyrocketing- your best bet is probably simmonds if you don't want to use up 2 trades (if you can get Mcintosh with 1 trade thats better but cbs checkin)

what a genious you are, how did I overlook Charman, I see over 07-08 he averaged 70-80 and with a price drop I can handle that but what has been his main injury problem this year? thats the only issue I will have to look into may even be able to wait until he bottom's out and gets fit!

I'm unable to get Mcintosh (by $4,000) and not keen too on Simmonds

I had already decided to ride this week out as I'm sure I can beat my first opponent this week.

If we can pull that one off and he comes good that would leave me with some cash to work on getting Ablett in and even a ruck upgrade later with trades in the bank.

I'm pretty happy with everything else ATM with 10 rookies killing it and making me some cash back as well as most guns firing (Deludio,Pav need to lift)

Lets just be happy we didnt grab him LAST week......man......was listening to game on radio - brissy cant take a trick with the rucks.

A cheap Hille is possible, maybe gardiner stk....

yer ive looked at Gardiner and he's going alright this year but can't stand his history, its shower, may even hold out and grab Cox it might not be worth mucking around with the rest and wasting trades, as with Ablett should have had him from the start!

Tony - I have Cox....s the 2nd ruck really doesnt bother me too much - thought u had him too....but you have tippett/white & jacobs....hhmmm.......how much cash do you have ?

HMac or Fraser will do you fine until those rooks allow you to upgarde to Cox I would think.

As for me - I'm going to take a flyer on Meesen....maybe not smart, but I need the cash to take one of my mids up to GAJ - I just cannot NOT have him anymore dammit.

My first year and followed the theory of not spending cash on rucks, I am fully loaded in the guts, and have four premiums front and back, pretty strong apart from Cox and Ablett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They would get me up to 2300-2400 average not the 2100 i'm putting up with now.

10 rookies all earning good cash so am working on the two in the next few weeks, although injuries to skippy and maybe adcock may slow things down.

Will be looking at break evens real closely in the next few games!

I think I will go for Meesen av 70 and look for the upgade to ablett in the guts
