Very harsh Roo boys, at least Laidley left your club with a good list, not an ageing one like Sheedy left with us.

Laidley left when the time was right, was not selfish like Sheedy and just trying to get another year on his contract.

Laidley was all for the club, and the players played for him like there was no tomorrow, played with passion, the one thing that Essendon do not have at the moment.

We get rid of one dud coach for a champion of the club who has never coached... STUPID. Yes it will make the majority of fans happy because they wanted him to coach all along but... What happens if he turns out to be a shower coach eg, Watson, Voss etc... ??? especially after the fans all called for him to coach. No one to blame this time if it goes wrong... Could be very messy.
