they are very close but hard to judge when they are in different environments. Lately Judd has been playing with better team around him then Goodes, yet Goodes keep racking up disposals. Tough choice but favouring Goodes

We'll probably need to judge in 3-4 years time, Judd is awesome (yes Carlton still are a one man team) but Goodes is so underrated. Watching him in the flesh provides such a better insight than on TV.

Going off topic on a mini rant not directed at anyone in particular. But you know what, I've never really understood that phrase.

Apples and oranges... They're both fruit, tasty, juicy, round, similar size and can be interchanged with each other.

Why not "its like comparing apples and thermo-nuclear weapons"

I agree Ossie, I think Apple Juice and Orange Juice in particular are quite comparable.

on the other hand Cruise, he won 2 brownlows, which doesn't make him underrated surely.  For the record, I believe he was fortunate to win the two.

A comparison of apples and oranges occurs when two items or groups of items are compared that cannot be validly compared.  Judd is the better choice as consistent where as Goodes can be hot n cold
