I think you get attendance money (not sure how much).

I just canceled my transfers of the 2 old guys so that I could afford a much better and younger player whose rating should increase heaps!

Depends on which young guys. They change rating for certain leagues at certain intervals. Better to get young than old though. But they are usually more expensive.

I've started out old but will get younger 8).
