No other team in the AFL will lose a coach and captain in the off season.
Leadership plays such a role in most teams and that loss of captain and coach may just turn the bloods anaemic.
The transfusion of talent in Daniel Hanneberry and the injection of Kieran Jack does show vital signs but Bradshaw, Jetta need to donate more.

New coach, new structures.... competitive but will fall out the 8 IMO

Spot on DB. The players know Longmire, and I don't think he will change the structures too much next year, so they will definitely be pushing for the 8

If Guys like Hannenbery, Jack and Dennis Lane keep developing, might be a smokie for top 4.

Could be a big trade season for them as they can turn down and out players into very solid players for them.

roo boys!

I think they will probably drop out of the 8 with Kirky and Roos gone but if luck goes their way they could finish 6th or so.

Sounds very familiar.... Pretty sure everyone said that before this season after they missed the 8 next year. "A couple of years of pain to come for Swans fans as they re-build".
Mighty Swans will battle with fremantle to take the bulldogs spot in the top 4 next season.

Reckon you guys will beat Collingwood next year? Or should I just pencil the points in now :)

Fireballz

Haha Ossie we've gotta beat the Pies sooner or later...
I've stopped watching the Swans/Pies mid-season game at the pub coz I'm sick of Collingwood supporters gloating. I watched it from home and my mates (who supports Hawks, Eagles, Dockers, whoever) end up giving me stick anyway. I can't win!

"Hot Pies!"  "F%$@ OFF!!!"  :P

I really am quite optimistic about next year. We finished 5th in 2010 without bradhaw or seaby contributing, who were supposed to be the big additions from 2009.
Our younger guys got some good games in them and we picked up another good one in the draft.
Top6 should be our aim, to get the home final, top 4 would be a fantastic result.

Sydney   ATM to win the flag $21.00
                                to make the GF $9.00
                                top four $4.25
highest placed non-Vic (inc finals) $3.35

This is where we begin to put lazy one dollar bets on the flag without no real invested interest in the outcome of the other categories because of the unlikelyhood of return.

I don't know. They lost a bit this year. I rate Longmire, but I kind of think it'll get worse before it gets better. Like when Ross Lyon took over from Thomas, the Saints dropped out of the finals, before regrouping the next year.

I think the Swans will finish a respectable 10th now, and make a run in 2012 when they have a local rival in GWS!
