I can't speak for hawka26, but if we play to our potential what he says is accurate. The problem is the "if". I can't, in any objective way, say where the Hawks will finish. If you assume each team plays to their ability, I can see the Hawks hovering around the top 3. However we don't live in a perfect work and I can just as easily see them hovering around 8th.

so weve had a while any1 change there thoughts ??

i think they will finish just outside the top 4, i do agree with hawk in thinking that the hawks could be as high as top 3, but i dont think they will quite get there, 5th or 6th for me, will be a threat in the finals though (assuming they make it :P)

Junktimer

bottom 4 of top 8, maybe 5th or 6th IMO

Recruited and traded well so we have fixed some deficiencies. Also appear to be training very well without major injuries (touch wood) so we are giving ourselves every chance.

However what I said is still true. We have issues playing consistently well despite often beating or coming very close to the best teams. The only thing that will change that perception is actual consistent performances so my opinion isn't going to change until we are a ways into the season.

I agree, Puopolo, Smith, litherland, hallahan all look like great pick ups.  futures looking good i reckon

Hawthorn ATM to win the flag $9.00
                                  to make the GF $4.00
                                  top four $2.10
highest placed VIC (inc finals) $8.00

Covering bets is not something I'd do, but $4.00 for a GF is not bad considering if you invest in others to make the top four  ;)

I'm not normally a betting man, especially if it is something of which I have no control (this loop hole allows me to make the occasional trip to Crown and play blackjack) however I would have thought $4 isn't that great a price.

To give that some context, that places us third by the punters with Collingwood at $2.25 and St Kilda at $3 followed by Geelong and The Dogs at $5.

Clealry the punters rate us highly and I certainly think we can be that good too, but I wouldn't be putting money on them given how over the past two years the gap between our potential and our performance has been so large.

When will the Hawks stop coasting off the flag two years ago? 3rd favourite for the flag is a bit rich really, given they've won less than half there matches since 2008

But with Buddy, anything's possible

Hawka

id tke that 4 dollars for the GF if i was over 18  ::)

Hawthorn at $9, and Geelong at $10 to win the flag... Does that make sense?

Hawks are under the odds, whilst the Cats are over the odds!! The Hawks are a good side, but they lack depth to be $9 for the flag.
