Age shall not weary them.

But the years certainly condemned Mark Thompson ;)

I give Hirdy 2 bad defeats (the first 2 games) before Thommo gets sick of it and demands the top job ;D

MTTY

I reckon they will finish anywhere from 4-8

the Cats will still do good this season i reckon.

It's funny how most of us on the Geelong Forum, all Voted Top 4, but not 1 person Voted for Premiers. I found it pretty funny when I voted and saw the results.

I admit I'm starting to feel a bit nervous about this season. In order to win premierships, your team must IMPROVE every year. Geelong has gone the opposite direction.
Collingwood have improved their team this year, so will be even harder to beat.
If Geelong are to improve, it will have to come from our recruits, which is a big ask. The big question I suppose is can our older players play up to the same standard for another season. The first game against the Saints may tell us what we are in store for this season.

Cracking first round game to get things going. Not sure St.Kilda have improved that much...... Gamble?

CFC 1979

beware the beast - he's still hungry

top 4 for sure

bunyip .. we have improved our team ! .. we've got rid of a lying coach (allegedly :) ..) who wouldn't talk to our best player .. out with division and in with unity .. that's a huge step in the right direction

I still think the Cats have improved. Their youngsters will step up this year. A definite Top 4 finish for mine. They still have the belief despite their age.

I agree with Milton, the improvement will come from within. The disfunctional nature of last year will only come more apparent as the new set-up takes hold. As an aside, I've never heard such wraps on a new coach as Scott, Freo are devastated he left.

bunyip

I can only repeat what I've said. you look at our teams list last year and compare it to this year and there is one glaring omission.
look, Geelong are as good a team as I have EVER seen, (and I go back a fair way), but you can't dismiss the fact that we didn't make the GF last season WITH Gazza.
Losing Gaz is a minus one. A new coach, new recruits, improvement in existing players, new game plan is a plus epsilon.
We need a plus one to even keep up.

Points for the use of the word epsilon bunyip!

Basically saying that time reveals all! Let's sit back and enjoy the ride.

Indeed and what a start to that ride, St.Kilda v Geelong in round 1. That could be an absolute gem.
