FYFEY! for the b&f :D
FYFEY!!!!!!!!!!!11

Would be great to be top 4 but I think 5th or 6th is about right for us again.  Look out from 2012 though.

Yeah agreed, 2012 onwards in Freo's and North's and GC's possibly time!

I think they will go down the ladder a couple fo places on the following basis:

1) Opposition clubs/coaches will take them much more seriously than they did for the first half of last season when they slipped under the guard.
2) Barlow can't be expected to contribute much in 2011 & he was possibly your best player for the 1st 14 rounds.
3) No Sandi = no Freo
4) I think Freo are physically a bit soft. I don't think they can match it with Geelong, St.Kilda & the Pies in Melbourne. I see them a a mid tear team along with Adelaide, The Dogs, North and possibly Carlton.

So going down the ladder a few spots puts us out of the 8?  Didnt you say that we would still make the 8.

We finished 6th and I can see us finishing around 6th again next season.

I didn't say you wouldn't make the 8.

6th is about right but you finished the year in 4th then came the finals. I think you'll slip during the home & away season.

As an aside, Freo need to get off to a good start otherwise the pressure will be back on Harvey more than most people realise.

I've put Freo in my 4 this year. If they make subiaco a fortress, who's going to beat them? Collingwood and St. Kilda maybe?

Let's say they win 10 of 12 subi games, meaning they probably need to win 5 or 6 matches to make the top 4 from away games, and I think they're improving in travelling stakes. Especially having 2 byes now, which will surely help them in travels.

We actually finished the year in 6th place so a slide of a couple positions would put us out of the 8

It may be pedantic (or just correct maths) but slipping a couple of positions would leave you 8th, which from my reckoning is still in the 8th.

I think as Ossie said earlier, unless you may a Prelim in 2011 it would be just as a backwards year.

I just love it how everyone claims to know all about Freo and what our goals are when its very clear that everyone in Melb treats Freo like a joke (even while we were in the top 4 for most of the season).  I have no idea what Freo's goals are for next year.  Who knows - maybe Harves thought we under-achieved last season.  Only Harves and the team will know
