They were trying to get Neagle to be the next Lloyd. Lead from the Goal Square. Thing was, he couldn't do much else!!! Fitness was the key and hopefully he's gotten back into shape. If he can run a little more and lead up further to the 50, would make for a great team with Hurley and Gumby up forward. He's got a strong mark and a decent kick so could be a solid option there.

But if he doesn't work on his fitness, won't see much of him this year.

he must have worked on his fitness to get rookie listed.. if he didn't he was gone!

Hmmm, maybe, but maybe also they decided to give him one more shot to see if he would work on his fitness too.

his been slacking of his whole career.. Hird knows that and would not have given him a second chance.. unless he worked on his fitness

i think bottom 9 for the Dons. my #2 followed team after suns but not top 8 material i dont think

For me could go either way on the decisions Hird makes, either 6-9 or 11-16 i reckon

tbh I get the feeling the only reason Neagle got another shot is coz he was contracted still so whats the harm in putting him on the rookie list & seeing if he can show something more instead of paying him out...

btw sorry to bring this up again  - I'm not spamming ::)

seriously if they play like they did in pre-season top 8 and maybe top 4. but it was NAB cup and everything can change

Poll reset.

Let's hope Essendon CEO Peter Jackson doesn't give up his ticket for QANTAS CEO Alan Joyce and see his actions ground the Bomber Fleet after a promising 2011?

Stamp your boarding pass people, Bombers are on the up, up ...

Remain calm though as the oxygen masks fall from above during turbulence.

Why isn't higher than the Hawks an option? :P.

Being a realist, bottom 10 is looming. As an optimist, top 8 is very possible depending on how we grow from this season.

lower than the roos ;)
Well after we beat the Roos in round 1, we'll be higher than them...

Top 8 for sure. Don't know how bottom 10 got most votes  ???
We have a promising draw IMO
