Where will North Melbourne finish in 2012?

roo boys!

Gonna take my advice and slip a few dollars on them for top 4? ;)

They play Collingwood and St Kilda twice. I can't see them beating either team on any occasion, meaning they will have only 18 other games to make up a 12 game winning ratio just to make the eight.

Playing Brisbane twice is a plus, draining that ratio to 10 from 16 only required.

Of those sixteen they meet a side who finished top 6 last year on four occasions (Freo twice, Geelong and Western Bulldogs) - these teams they lost heavily on average to in 2010.
Their matches after the bye are both against Freo (rnd4 and rnd22). The first game against Freo is away and will be after a long break (they don't play until the Sunday) and any early season momentum will be lost.
So, breaking that down they need to win 10 of 12 just to make the eight against other remaining teams. Even allowing for the odd upset and the rare possibility they may make the eight if they do win that 10 of 12 - I can't see enough points pressure being gained to push for top four.

I wish them plenty of luck and will be barracking for them in all rounds except for rnd11 ;)

Wow, you thought about that a lot! If I was legally allowed to gamble I would just put 10 bucks on them, just because I love my roo boys! ;)

Didn't want to start a seperate thread for this, but I just read that the North Melbourne SuperCoach League last year finished in the top 5!

That's very impressive. Can they back it up this year?

I'm actually starting to think that our own roo boys, although he pretends to be a youngin', could actually be Brent Harvey or Liam Anthony or some such!

roo boys!

Go North! ;)

Of course we can back it up, just to reflect our on field performances this season.

I wish :P

Probably 7-11, depends on the forwardline and how well the middle will work together.

Depends how early we can get HMAC back and also if we dont get killed with injuries again

Off to a shakey start this year, but we will come good :)

Man I wish we drafted Jack Darling, I've been saying for 2-3 years now we should be drafting forwards instead of midfielders.

I see our midfield already being the best in the league or certainly top 3 in 2-3 years time. It's about developing a forwardline now, the guys we have now aren't cutting it. I also think our midfield will be great because Hamish and Goldstein will form the best ruck combo in 2 years time, or they're very close to it now when Hamish can get himself on the field.

Agreed. We have some superstar midfielders in the making.

With Drew Petrie fully recovered, we will have our big target in the forward line, and with the resting ruckman probably spending some time forward, there are our two talls. Perhaps Majak could come in and kick some goals up forward.

Lindsay Thomas is a good enough crumber, not the most accurate kick but I'm sure that's getting worked into the ground at training!

So I think we need a few more young kids to help up forward. Darling would have been AWESOME.

thats what i was thinking when i was watching the draft, we have too many mids swallow, cunnington, ziebel, anthony, atley, bastinac etc.. cant all be mids. Darling will be a very good forward, would take the pressure of petrie and when hmac and goldy are both playing petrie, darling and one of the rucks resting up forward is pretty good and we already have decent crummers.

North Melbournes Finest

think about it

Bastinac, Cunnington, Adams, Greenwood, Swallow, Harvey, Atley, Wells, Ziebell, Anthony, Gartlett, Macmillan, Speight (at times), Cameron Richardson (at times)

That's 14 or so talented midfielders trying to get into one team, sure it's good because it's comptetive to get a spot, but for the ones that don't how are we going to develop them and make them better? I'm sure if you take Atley out of there you'd hardly notice it and if you slot in Jack Darling in the forward line there'd be a tonne of difference.

Ah well, Atley could turn into a very very talented player, he was meant to be drafted a lot higher then 17-18 where we got him, more like 7-8. Harper also looks promising up forward so can't complain overly much.

Poll reset.

Kangaroos don't bore us,
We're with you one and all,
Kangaroos don't bore us,
Just give Swallow the ball,
Kangaroos don't bore us,
Scott will have to wait and see,
Should he have traded Liam Anthony?

If real estate was available around Arden street I'd be buying because it screams POTENTIAL, POTENTIAL, POTENTIAL.

But would I be buying the worst house on the best street? - maybe....
