Today you blitzed the most dominant team of the last 4 years. You handed them their first prelim loss since '05.
You stopped their run of Grand Finals. Clearly you took your foot off the pedal in the last quarter. Awesome performance. well done.

Well done boys! One more.

Whether it be St. Kilda or the Bulldogs, let's take 'em on

bunyip

Well done Pies, to good for us tonight. The score once again flattered us and does not indicate how much you dominated the game from the first bounce. Congratulations for reaching the GF.

End of an era? Is Collingwood the new Geelong?

Geelong will still be top 4 next year no where near as dominant as they were though they weren't quite as dominant this year either showed glimpses of their old dominance but not every week. Looked more vulnerable through the year.
Collingwood was this years dominant team no doubt, and all their young blokes will only get better, they may begin a Cats type of dominance, but it takes a lot to maintain that for so long, will be tough.

8-6 Suited

Can't even compare Collingwood to Geelong. Game plans are totally different to begin with...

I think that come the end of the year, you will see a couple from Geelong retire, most likely Ottens and Milburn. Ablett definately looked like he played his last game for Geelong by his body language walking off the oval. It's going to be an insteresting next couple weeks for sure.

Looking forward to next week, no matter who we are up against.

Bunyip, you are a very good sport. Cheers.

Will the Cats make the 4 next year? They had a very poor record against Saints/Pies this year

Well played Collingwood, although I really wanted you to lose, you were the better team last night. I wish Collingwood and their fans good luck, but let's remember, it's not over to the fat lady sings.

Might even be the fat man this year, Demetriou.
Ossie I would think they are still a top 4 team they will not be top 2 though will more likely finish 3rd or 4th.
But, we never know do we?

roo boys!

They could do an Adelaide and be pre-season Top 4 favourites and then miss out on top 4, but they won't finish as low as Adelaide did.

Alex7089

Difference is Geelong actually made top 4 this year and have since '07. Adelaide finished 5th and were tipped to take it to the next level, but didn't.
Would be a lot of fun to watch that happen though ;D

Finally checking in to FF after time got away from me post game and arrived home at 3am rather happy with life!  ::)

Bad luck Bunyip, certainly the best team won but what a run Geelong have had. To be top of the ladder, having beaten you guys only 4 weeks ago yet still be so nervous before the game proves that. We Pies supporters know more than most that Prelim (and GF) lossses are bitter pills to swallow.

Rightfully we are red hot favourites but it is all about performing on the one day that decides it all. I'm going to enjoy this week but until the GF is over and the right team is in front I'll remain quite tense.

Naaaghh Cruise - while you are walking on thin ice you might as well dance - live it, love it, let us all know all about it, we all want to be where your team is.

The Pies have made it, join them in their journey - even if it proves to be a bumpy ride, "Well Played Collingwood" - indeed  8)
