Could be a very good option for the VFL Supercoach comp but at an AFL level? You're having a laugh!!

If he is that price and starts rd one i will have him no doubt! only a few more bob than first rd rookies that have never played AFL and knows how to get the ball when fit.... i will just treat him as a rookie cash cow.... he will be first to be upgraded say rd 7
I wouldn't want a whole season out of him anyways

Rookie priced
plays fit should avg 80-90
cash cow yes!
ticks enough boxes for me if he is fit

Most people have Otten or Adcock in there team... not sure whats too much dif with McLean!!!!?

On a side note i will have Shuey in my team too as he is a walk up in the mid field straight up and scored 2 tonnes out of 7 i think... again is 1st rd rookie priced and has experience aswell as being very highly rated out west....yet dudes say there is no upside to him.... i say there is plenty of upside to both these players IF priced at Fanplanner price! $250k + NO!!!

Other than 3 obv premiums in the middle the other 3 are these 2 and of course Swallow to rd off 6 spot!

I'm not going near him. He doesn't seem like he's good enough to play in Carlton's midfield.

your all being incredibly harsh IMO, especially cruise, but whatdya expect i guess.

McLean was battling a severe hip injury this year, such injuries are very serious, as shown by Clinton Young and Courtney Johns.

McLean shouldn't have played after the onset of the injury in round 3, he was rushed back in round 5 and 6 and thus his scores suffered.

McLean is fit and firing in pre season, and has been killing it on the training track.  He has proven that he is a good player, and the recent loss of Richard Hadley opens up a hard-man sort of role.

Played games in the bullants last year as he was underdone and Carlton didn't want to make the same mistake by rushing him back.

At a price of $215,900, you'd be mad not to consider him, he is just about rookie priced.

The only reason I won't pick him next year is because of my structure, it may not permit having midfield mid pricers in it.  50/50.

I agree to a certain extent, Junk, but also think that the move to Carlton wsan't the right decision for him playing wise and fantasy wise.

Carlton have a strong midfield without McLean, although the retirement of Hadley could mean more opportunities, I can't see all 4 of Judd, Murphy, Gibbs and McLean all scoring well unless Carltong flog the team they're playing.

I won't be taking him and wouldn't anyway also because of my structure.

hopefully there's a bit more of that.

i probably won't take him myself either, just think people were being harsh on him.

MajorLazer

Keep dreaming Junk. :P

People were being slightly harsh as he was suffering an injury that does affect a lot of his playing ability, but after the season passed, he hasn't proven that he is worth picking.

On a serious note he's hardly even in Carltons best 22 so I'd prefer a rookie.
