Summary:

Well, Andrew Raines has been 3 years running burning fantasy coaches. Raines not that long ago came 2nd in the rising star (behind Danyle Pearce and ahead of Heath Shaw) but since then has battled form and injury and has yet to fulfil his potential. Many people thought a change of scenery at Brisbane in 2010 could improve his output. They were wrong.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number

Price: $327,700 (no discount), $294,900 (10% discount)
Position: DEF

Raines is no guarantee for a 10% discount, no guarantee to be in Brisbane's best 22 (and Brisbane aren't exactly a dominant team). Hell, he's no guarantee not to be axed in the preseason! Though with the Lions' list worries, I doubt he'll go. Reckon Voss would have liked to have kept Joel Macdonald in hindsight.

Is there any chance he will be a DEF/MID MPP? I doubt it.

Decision:

Not even going to try and justify him. A no from me! Vent your hatred for him here:

... or do you disagree?

most likely a no from me, unless he can show something preseason

Alex7089

No from me. In '09 had him from the start to round 10 and that got him a spot on my list. He is pure SC evil. Picking him is suicide.
Might be a prospect for the SpudSacks team ;)

Geez, are we down to Andrew Raines already - we'll be assessing J-O-N by next week.

I'm finding it hard to understand how three people have marked this guy as 'unlikely'.  Raines brings nothing to the table in a Fantasy sense that a rookie costing a fraction of $300K would and should be completely discounted from consideration.

Also, I won't be picking Oakley-Nicholls next year either  :P

thatguy

by the end of 2010 there are going to be previews on every player in the league!  :P

raines = NO!

Any chance of a bigger discount, has played less then 30 games in the past 3 years I think...

Personally I don't think he'll get any discount
