Brian Lake

2010 Stats:
Games: 22
Total Score: 2184(Ranked 21 overall)
Standard Deviation: 37.6
Centuries: 13 out of 22
Average: 104.5
High: 179( Round 9)
Low: 38 (Round 20)
Starting Price: 492,500
High Price: 614,600
Low Price: 452,500

Summary: Brian Lake had a great season 2010, and showed that playing Full Back doesn't limit your SC scoring ability, but in this case increase it. Consistently scored around the 100 mark all year, and at one stage was one of the highest price premium defenders available.

The Crystal Ball:
Price: 555,000
Position: DEF

Doesn't come cheap for season 2011, and may just be a little overpriced. Very unlikely that he would get DEF/FWD MPP status.

Verdict: Upgrade target for mine, a little overpriced and if he has a few poor weeks his price will come rocketing down.
Will you pick Lake in 2011?

on the short list, may be an upgrade target, may start him, who knows

I know he gets a lot of the ball, I just don't like selecting key position backs, they can score low by playing the stopping role sometimes. Standard deviation high....

The standard deviation is enough to make me say no. Although may look at bringing him in closer to finls if he is cheap and has no bye.

Considering Goddard will most likely be picked many will probably be forced into a choice between either Lake or Enright at the start and make the either a definite upgrade target.

I'm more inclined to pick the cheaper option (Enright) and wait for the right time to bring Lake in

will be an upgrade target for most, however people are forgetting that the way the game is going, the full back is one of the best places to gather up massive SC scores, as teams push up with the zone the full backs get a ton of the ball as they cant be tagged and are used to switch from wing to wing. i think lake is a good option next year as the difference between him and the other FB's in the comp is he backs himself to take the contested mark.
risk=reward

Master Q

I see what you are talking about SUD, but still prefer GOD.

The safest place to be during a flood is ON the Lake  :P

Torress

having pre season surgery?? keep it in mind if u want to start this guy, a likely upgrade target if anything - 550k is too much for a defender unless its hodge or GOD

Maca24

im warming to him. think he can be a starter now.  :)
