Leigh "Joey" Montagna

2010 Stats
Games: 22
Total Score: 2,526 (Ranked 4th overall, 4th amongst midfielders)
Average Score: 114.82 (Ranked 9th overall, 9th amongst midfielders)
High: 172 (Round 21)
Low: 49 (Round 17)
Centuries: 16 out of 22
Starting Price: $668,200
High Price: $668,200 (round 3) (never got back to what he started at actually by round 7 was under the 600k mark)
Lowest Price: $495,700 (round 20)

Summary:

What can you say about Joey besides a gun?....Well i'm quite surprised to actually see he dipped price from the start to round 9 where he became a juicy 535,700 so seeing that looks bad but actually of his 16 ton's 14 of them were better then 110. So either way you look at it he may put in a sub par performance every now and then but usually his gonna get you that big score you need.

The Crystal Ball:
Based on last year's magic number

Price: $609,809
Position: MID

Next year

Decision:

You won't be disappointed if you take Joey as a starter in your mids he'll quickly go about scoring some great scores for you almost even captain worthy if you didn't take Swan,Ablett or Goddard. His long kicks to players on the lead which usually hit the target make him a great scorer an his high possessions numbers don't hurt either. Personally i didn't start with him in 2010 but upgraded to him and looking at how his price went down i might just do the same especially considering having Swan,Goddard and riewoldt already pretty much locked in my side.Either way the big question is

Will Joey Montagna be selected by you in 2011?

Fletch74

16 centuries is pretty good. There is a big difference between his highest score and lowest score, but I think he would be worth it. Cheaper than last year, so I reckon he would almost be a lock for me.

will be an upgrade target for me too.

Wilkopolis

Swapped him in for Barlow last season.  Worked a treat.  With Ablett dropping in value I could be tempted to start......

I got him for low 500k's 8).

Looking at Hayes instead next year seeing as he is 50k cheaper.

can also rely on joey too. had 2 low key games v freo (one he got knocked out) so hard to say hayes would be a better pick? just my opinion!

This is what I have done the last 2 years and I will do it again next year.

Tends to have some scores down at 60-70 when he does gets cheap and will come at a lot less than 610k ;)

7 scores over 135 (9 including 138 and 140 in the prelim and GF), 60k less than this year's starting price, second highest scorer last year......leave him out at your peril

even with his occasional low score, i'm struggling to find reasons not to pick him! money very well spent IMO.

Justin Bieber

Doesn't cop a tag with Nicky Dal there either ;). He's very much on my radar.

Avoided this year until he was lowered to 530k in SC. Jumped on straight away for DT. Very happy pickings.

I so far have my solid 3 in Boyd, Selwood and Pendles. Pendles is still a maybe and could get swapped for Joey. One of my favourite players to watch doesn't hurt :-*.
