I agree, once the draft is completed. You need to agree on all matters, like trading, scoring (home ground advantage) and even points for a win, draw, loss (presume it would be the same as EPL). Also need to determine when sides have to be in by and captains nominated, etc.

I need to know all these things. Perhaps also if you can get the draft finished ASAP, maybe you could start earlier - 23/10 is a fair way off??

Fletch74

Was actually thinking if you could get the draft finished before next week, maybe we could have a few practice games before the season starts. Then we can test out all the rules, scoring etc before the Rd 1 starts?

Thoughts?

chrisuzz

yeah great idea Fletch

Thanks for the great work you're putting into this :D

benjy251090

Its a good idea. But will everybody be on to make their picks in time for next week ::).

CrowsFan

Well I only have 2 picks left, so most people only have 3 or 4 so should get that done before next week

#22
Pre-season Cup draw Rd 1

Hilly's Heroics v Zz's Zanny Zebras (Hill Camp)
Q's Champions v Hawka FC (Champions Arena)
Hello v The Matchbox Matadors (Field of Dreams)
Lardner's Lovable Losers v Didhedive Drogba (Bachelor Pad)

Master Q

Fletch, Andrew's name is meant to be Dogba, not Drogba.

Also, If you get time I think you should add the Home Grounds.

Copied from your post... ;) I'll add the home grounds, ahve we decided as to whether there is a point advantage yet?

Master Q

Yes, 3 Points. I know, I meant add the Home Grounds to the Actual Season draw.

Just so you know, there are no 3 Point Home Ground Advantages in the Pre-Season Cup.

Fletch74

Well, I've almost finallised my spreadsheet. We just need to decide on the rules now.

To make it easy with the scoring, these are the options I put forward;

Home Ground Advantage - 3 points (not in Pre-Season Cup)

Must nominate a Captain and Vice-Captain each week. No VC will be taken on Form/Value etc

Captain receives double points

Same points scoring as Official EPL site

All Subs can come onto the field if a player does not play

Teams must be nominated in the formats provided by the Official EPL game, that is 3-5-2, 3-4-3, 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 4-3-3, 5-4-1, or 5-3-2

Subs must be ranked in order of preference to come onto the field

All teams must be displayed on a new thread each week by a certain time, yet to be confirmed

All trades must be shown on the Official Trade thread by a certain time, yet to be confirmed

Trades are limited 2 per week and must be a direct swap for a position player (sorry Q, it becomes too complicated if you do 2 for 1's etc or a mid for def)

New rule (for discussion) For players like Valencia, who look to be out for the season, or LT injuries, maybe they can be dropped off the list and replaced by someone else, but they must have been on that persons list for perhaps 5 or 6 rounds, etc, so they can't just be swapped around?

Thoughts?

Let me know if that covers all the rules, or if there is to be an adjustment.

Justin Bieber

Sounds good. 2 trades a week will stop people like me trading madly :P.

5 rounds seems alright for LTI. Makes sure teams are over changing.

Master Q

Only 2 Rules I think we should change.

QuoteTrades are limited 2 per week and must be a direct swap for a position player (sorry Q, it becomes too complicated if you do 2 for 1's etc or a mid for def)

Sorry, but then it's too hard to trade, and the better teams will just hold onto their players.

For the Valencia rule, you can get rid of anyone at any time.

CrowsFan

You forgot to say that 5-2-3 is a valid formation.

Q what I think he means is you can't swap a defender for a forward, but you can swap a defender and a forward for a defender and forward. Once the season starts you must make sure you have a complete squad of 15 players at all time and the correct number in each position.

Also just to clarify when can I get rid of Valencia?
