Oh ffs. May have to return to Tippett *shudders*

Still enough time for him to play round 1. Remember he is cheap, he ain't a premium. I would still be prepared to risk him if named for round 1.

With a solid pre-season should be one of the 2-3 most picked players.  Considering the rucks were one of the most difficult areas to get right at the start of this year the risk / return that Petrie offers is too good to turn down
According to the Hun, he already has an interrupted preseason and won't train properly until Feb 2011.

Oh O  :-\

Maca24

he is starting to become very injury prone. dont think we can call him a lock anymore.

Plan for Nth Melb to play Petrie deep forward in 2011, link to AFL website article:

(also some mention of his rehab)

Do you think this will affect his scoring??

I just want him to get on the damn park!

... But it will probably reduce his scoring if he is playing just the FF role.

its a fair gamble to pick him as attractive as the price tag is he even durable enough to make u 100k let alone be counted on to be a keeper...

keeping a close eye on his rehab thru pre-season - that should be enough if he can get thru without anything major with his feet - if he can do that i'll be taking the gamble.

Holzman/RB, can you guys keep an eye on him for us??  ;)

Maca24

looking less enticing with every day.  :-\

Torress

yea i still think i'll be taking this guy. might take a few games to get going. match fitness will be a prick when he returns. when fit enough to play CHF it will be exciting tho. should reach 450k at some stage of the season providing he aint injured. not that i think he'll be rucking as north are apparently putting him deep in forward line, but i remember when hille was at a good price i think last year, had a slowish start but for those who kept a bit of faith it payed off. i can  see ppl jumping off him if he starts poorly next year.if north are on top and this guy is FF, can take huge contested marks. lets see how his preseason goes

Junktimer

i will be watching him at that price.

however the one knock on him is big men and their foot injuries.  no foot injury is good, and many are chronic, (Chris Knights and Yao Ming are living proof).

just gotta wait and see. if fit, lock.

Maca24

agreed if he ticks all the boxes from now to round 1 he will be in my plans.
but these injuries are scaring me off atm.

mophead222

see mcintosh is down with an achilies injury, means drew will be thrown straight into more responsibility with ruck time alongside goldstien :)

mophead222

also if he is playing foward, he scores big coz he takes lots of big contested marks, could be similar to last years pods (hoping bar the inconsistency)
