Summary: Lions Captain Jonathan Brown started off season 2010 with a bang, with scores of 130,171 and 141 in his first three games. He then suffered a groin/abdominal injury, which he bravely played on with for most of the year, and also causing pain for fantasy coaches who jumped on him when Riewoldt went down. He rewarded the faith shown in him later in the season, putting in a
couple of good scores before he missed round 22 with an ongoing injury problem.

The Crystal Ball:
Price: 518,800
Position:FWD

Relatively cheap for what he can produce, will definently be one to watch pre-season and if he is fit should be a lock for most fantasy sides.

Verdict: I think Brown is worth the risk at that price, but another factor to weigh in is the possible loss of Fevola, will this hinder or help his scoring?
Will you pick JB in 2011?

he seemed to do well without fev in previous years, and with the emergence of cornelius (however he spells it) should do fine! Definitely on the short list so long as he gets a good pre-season and the groin holds up well.

SCADDICT

No way, learn my lesson with him. Gun player, but hes just too injury prone these days. You can take some solace with him I guess knowing that if he plays he'll always produce a reasonable score. But hes just out for too long.

If he doesn't have full pre-season without injury, I will look at him. He and ROK could be the cheapies of the forward line. Will be.
Although I had them both pinned at 450 or lower but still cheap :P

Jonno Brown will be an upgrade target I think, he can have a low score that should drag his price down

argee with you on this ossie....then will be able to make sure his body holds up aswell

Fletch74

Depends on what happens with Fev, and agree he will probably be more of an upgrade target. He can be a little inconsistent, so is bound to have a shocker.

thatguy

after round 3 he was looking like the next wayne carey and was a MUST have.

not so sure anymore. reliability issues. like your favourite car that you dont want to get rid of... but know a better upgrade is required!

benjy251090

yeah, may have to be an upgrade option rather than a starter

Master Q

Got no idea about this guy, will check out his Pre-Season.

BratPack

My initial thought is upgrade target. But it's close to a 50/50 call. Depends on his preseason

EAGLE4LIFE

will pick him up if fit he can dominate a game at times

I'm very concerned about picking up Brown for 2011. From the looks of it Brisbane are going to be a basket case and if the ball can't get past their midfield, Brown won't be scoring very well.

I'm probably going to wait and see on him, perhaps looking to upgrade someone to him later in the year.

I'm starting to think Jonathan Brown is more and more a player to pick up from the beginning. He did have a massive start to last year, and the Lions have no active byes....

Plus, he is a true superstar...
