and it came to pass......
the beast awoke lazily from its slumber. Having feasted on the remains of the gladiators from the Western Plains, it looked to the south.
A dust trail on the horizon revealed the armies from the realm of Jillong had regrouped and had reached the mighty YouYang mountain range.
It flew away from its lair in the caves of Carringbush to meet the approaching hoard. This would not be an easy victory like the red white and blue warriors, but much sweeter, and would open the door to the holy grail.

whatcha talkin' 'bout foo'?

Key match ups:

Gary Ablett v Dane Swan
- The two most prolific ball winners in the competition, shut either down would be a huge step to victory. Swan is almost untaggable and Ablett has been scoring goals heavily recently.

Simon Prestigiacomo v James Podsiadly
- Reckon Presti's got his number, but if Pods can get lose, you never know the damage he could cause

Cameron Ling v Scott Pendlebury
- The old warrior versus the wonderkid

Travis Cloke v Matthew Scarlett
- If they play on each other! Reckon could be vital.

Others?

Justin Bieber

Reckon Taylor will get the job on Cloke. Gives Scarlett the ability to run out of half back a little.

You don't have a romantic bone in your body, do ya ossie?  Oh well.
You want match ups? Have a look at your list and see if you can find one for Varcoe, Byrnes, Stokes, Chapman, Bartell and Johnson. Good luck.

I don't know if match ups will be critical anyway. Every time we play Collingwood we seem to lose the contested ball stat. Last time it was by a long way.
I believe it will come down to forward zone efficiency. Collingwood are the best in the league in that area. Geelong, not so good.
It's all related, win the contested ball so Collingwood don't have it, and when they do, pressure them into long kicks into the forward fifty. The longer the ball is in the air, the more time Geelongs backline have to help each other.

Both coaches are playing hard ball with their selection options. Question is, do you change a winning side to fit in players like Mackie or Gia.

Ok, the truth about tomorrow night.
Collingwood, correctly are the favorites tomorrow and SHOULD win on form. I am not really worried about Geelongs ability to beat Collingwood, what concerns me mostly is our form this year against the other "big 2" is ordinary. Geelong is a funny team though. and tend to lift for big games.
If the Cats are to win, a few things have to go right. We won't keep all the Pie champions quiet, but hopefully ours will do just as well. It will come down to forward line efficiency. The ONLY weakness Collingwood seem to have is their erratic goal kicking. If the cats can put some early score board pressure on them they MIGHT get the wobbles in front of goal and kick themselves out of the game.
Man for man, Collingwood match up pretty well with us, so it will be up to our forwards to make every post a winner. Another 8 goal first quarter would be sweet.

EAGLE4LIFE

as long as you guys beat them :)

bunyip

here's hoping Eagle. It WOULD be nice to deny them a GF they think they SHOULD win. Just like '07 ;D
